Chapter 7

I made it back home in no time, probably because I was too happy about not being ignored anymore. When I entered the house. I could hear lively chatting coming from the living room.

Did mom bring some of her clients over again?

I walked into the loud room and was surprised by the familiar guests.

"Aunt Susan!!!" I yelled as I pretty much jumped on her, good thing she was already sitting.

"Ugh!"

It took her a second to process what just tackled her.

"Haha! Amber!" She squeezed me tight. "How are you! When we got here, you were no where to be found"

"Sorry, I was over at a friend's house" I looked at my parents. "Why didn't you tell me they were here! I would have come home sooner!"

"Sorry honey, but they told us not to so they could surprise you" My mom said.

I got off Aunt Susan, so I could turn and give Aunt Caitlin a hug too. Next, I looked around for my favorite person.

"Where's Sammy?" As if on cue, the bathroom door opened and out came a little girl.

"Amber!!"

When she saw me, she ran up to me and gave me a giant hug. Sammy got big, well I guess that's what happens when you haven't seen someone in 2 years.

"Hey!" I hug her back. "Man you got big! How old are you now?" I lean down and ask even though I already know the answer.

"8! Mama says I eat too much veggies, and that's why I'm already taller than most kids" She says with a big smile.

"Haha, I bet" I laugh and mess with her hair.

"Hey guys, why don't you come over and sit down" My mom asks, gesturing for us to come over.

Sammy sits in between her moms, while I take an empty chair that's next to my parents.

"So! Amber how have you been? How's school and all that?" Aunt Susan asked.

"It's good, our first day back was today so nothing really happened"

"Lucky!!! I went back to school two weeks ago" Sammy said pouting.

I gave a confused face.

"Oh, in Indiana they start school in the beginning of August and not the end of it" Aunt Caitlin explained.

"Wow, must suck for you" I tease and Sammy just sticks her tongue out at me.

"Oh yeah! How long are you guys staying?" I asked excitedly.

"We don't really know yet" Aunt Susan looks at Aunt Caitlin with a smile. "Actually... We here to look for a house" She says turning back to me.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!" I yell in excitement.

"Yes, because of Catie's job we'll be moving back here real soon. Well if we find a house that is" She says giggling.

"YYEEESSS!!" I jump up and hug them. I bet Sammy felt squished, but she didn't complain.

"Okay, okay. Amber if you keep yelling like that I'll go deaf" Aunt Susan says laughing, making my mom and everyone else laugh with her.

"Alright! I think it's time for bed, they had a long drive over here" My mom said as she gets off the couch. "Amber can you help me get the guest room ready"

I nod to my mom and start to head to the guest room with her.

"Okay honey, all we need to do is add the sheets. Oh! And check the guest bathroom, I want to make sure they will have toilet paper"

"Okay Mom" With that said, I head into the bathroom first to make sure there's toilet paper and extra to spare. After I go into the closet to get some sheets for the bed.

"Got it mom" I say, handing her some.

"Thank you dear" She says cheerfully.

After we're down making the bed look like a 5-star hotel made it, we head back into the living room.

"Alrighty baby sis, your room is all ready for ya" My mom squeals to Aunt Susan. "I'm so excited your going to be moving back here!! I'm so tired of talking on the phone with you"

"Haha, Ouch, you don't want to talk on the phone with me?" Aunt Susan pretends to pout.

"You know what I mean!" My mom says laughing, while lightly hitting her on the shoulder. 

"Haha, well goodnight everyone! Sammy say goodnight we're heading to bed" Aunt Susan helps Sammy off the couch.

"But I'm not even tired" She says with a yawn.

"I'm sure your not peanut, but mama and I are" Aunt Caitlin says while taking Sammy's hand.

"Alright. Goodnight" She says sleepily and gives everyone a goodnight hug.

As Aunt Caitlin takes Sammy to the room, Aunt Susan also gives us a goodnight hug. But before she pulls back from my hug, she whispers in my ear.

"Let's talk later" And pat's my shoulder, before going to the guest room herself.

I'm a little confused on what we're going to talk about, but knowing Aunt Susan it's going to be an interesting conversation.

"Okay honey, me and your dad are going to go to bed now" My mom and dad start to walk up the stairs.

I follow them up, and start to head to my room when I remember.

"Oh, hey dad"

"Yep?"

"Mr. Waters said he'd pick you up around noon for the game"

"Oh okay, thanks honey"

"No problem"

I close my room door, and get changed into my pjs. After I brush my teeth, I get into bed and make sure my alarm is still good for tomorrow. As I start to get comfortable, I slowly start to drift to sleep.
