Chapter Four: Suicide

60°There was one hour till the mission was going to be set in motion and was far from the dock. Hank's house appeared in my view the mission was going to be risky if they see there will be little chance of escape and I will be shut down. I wanted to see Sumo before the operation started, that way at least I could have a final moment with him in case of failure.
From outside the house, I could hear Sumo's loud barks that echoed within the structures. There was something wrong. Sumo is a very good boy and never barked for no reason. I jumped up to the window and looked inside, the curtains were open and there stood Hank in plain sight. There was a bottle of Whiskey on the table as he loaded the gun in his hand with one bullet.
Russian Roulette, this crazy old man is actually going to do it. I need to do something before he shoots.
Where was Sumo?
I couldn't just barge in there. I need to wait for an opening.
Hank put the gun on the table and drank the whiskey straight from the bottle and watched T.V. He drank and drank, not even looking at the gun but instead at the picture on his table. It was a picture of Colby, his son who died a long, long time ago.
Sumo had quite down after half an hour, Hank never even told him to, he didn't care, not right now anyway. After downing a quarter of the bottle Hank went to the bathroom, I took this ask my queue to go in.
I walked to the front of the house and opened the door, closing it quietly before me. I went past the living room and to my left, there Sumo was tied to the radiator by his yellow leash. There was a pause as Sumo looked at me curiously, I still had the fur color of the party last night, however, Sumo still recognized me somehow. Sumo wagged his tail at me as he greeted me, he has grown a lot. I remember when he was just a pup but now he is bigger than me!
The door jiggled and I quickly retreated into Hank's opened bedroom and hid under the bed. Luckily in his drunken movement, it took him a while to open the door and stumble out. I crawled out from under the bed and saw that Sumo was now standing up, wanting to be let loose.
I could hear Hank sit down from where I was and spin the cylinder from the revolver. Without a second to spare he shot the gun making a slight noise, but Sumo was smart enough to know what was going on. Sumo was barking again, this time louder and with a growl as he tugged on his leash.
"Quiet boy," Hank said but it was quiet and could've been mistaken for a gust of wind.
Sumo continued to bark and bark, another click got me scared as well, he was going fast, who knows if the next shot is his last. I looked at Sumo he was the only one who could help Hank now. I looked at the leash and saw it tied tightly on the radiator, it was a tangled mess, no way I could untie it on time.
Another shot was fired and I knew what to do, I bit into the middle of the leash with my sharp teeth making it snap in half. Sumo instantly ran around the corner and whined at Hank. I peeked around the corner to find Hank crying into Sumo's fur, he still had the gun at hand but it wasn't pointed to his head anymore.
Sumo sat down in front of the chair as Hank let him go. The whiskey bottle was still opened which tempted the old guy to drink more, and that's exactly what he did. As I waited for the coast to clear I untied the knot from the radiator, it was one less headache for hank to have when he sobers up, either way, he will still need to buy a new one.
There was a thud as Hank fell down from the chair unconscious, Sumo licked his face to wake him up but it was no use he was wasted as all hell. I took this chance to leave opening the front door and taking the road down to the dock. I saw a Taxi become slower as it stopped in front of Hank's house, curiously I hid in the bush and waited for the Taxi to reveal who was inside.
An android stepped out and I recognized it as Connor, the android who saved Emma a couple of months back. What was he doing here? Politely the android buzzed the doorbell when there was no answer he checked the window.
Connor walked around the house and checked the side house window, there was a look of worry as he saw Hank on the floor.
"Lieutenant Anderson!" Connor sounded worried and instead of calling the police, he decided to break into the house. I watched as he broke the glass with his elbow and jump inside. Instantly I could hear Sumo growling from inside, I trained him how to be fierce for a break-in or emergency, but right now wasn't an emergency.
There was a secret tone I used to calm him down, a sound that only his sensitive ears can hear and something an android will ignore if not looking for it. I played the soft tone as Connor reassured him with his words.
Connor now free from Sumo ran over to Hank to check if he was okay. This was truly odd his expressions said he cared for the officer, Hank couldn't see him, there was no need to pretend, so maybe he wasn't.
