Black Mist leaned against the stone wall, molding a small piece of ooze to keep himself entertained, which wasn't working very well. He didn't like being confined to a small cave, but rather out in the open. However, he couldn't go out without becoming food, what with the Hunters out still sniffing around.

Yoru laid himself on the ground, completely bored. He, too, didn't like being inside, but they had no other choice.

"Morsels!" the Hunters screeched. "Come out! We are hungry for your flesh!"

Black Mist scrunched his nose, annoyed with those wretched Hunters. He looked at the boulder, and he swore he could hear them scratching at the rock like a bunch of canines.

How pathetic!

"It is indeed pathetic," the voice agreed. "Proud warrior dragons scratching at the door. Despicable."

Black Mist nodded. He liked it when the voice agreed with him. It always seemed to do that, though. He wondered why.

Who are you? he asked. Do you have a name?

The voice paused for a while. "I will not say at the moment. When I reveal myself to you, I will say."

Black Mist frowned and continued to play with the ooze. Fine, but don't expect me to be patient.

The voice seemed to chuckle. "I have things I must attend to," it said. "I will be back shortly."

Black Mist acknowledged this and got up. He placed his ear against the rock, listening for any sign of the Hunters.

They were still there...

Black Mist huffed and pouted. I need to get back home. "Yoru, do you think there's another way out?"

Yoru opened his eyes and blinked slowly. "There might be. After all, no reptilian would have only one entrance."

Black Mist nodded. "Come on, let's go look for it."

Yoru got up and led Black Mist to the back. "There is most likely to be one back here. The owner of this den is most likely not an idiot."

That seemed reasonable to Black Mist. Just like the orphanage, this place had to have a back door.

Thinking about the orphanage, Black Mist felt suddenly lonely. He had Yoru for company, but he longed for the hugs of his Onii-sama. He wrapped his arms around himself, following the Darkling.

I miss Onii-sama...
