......................

I entered the Mikaelson mansion with a loud thud of the door. My throat was burning due to inadequate intake of blood. I sauntered trying to find someone who can provide me with it. My brain wasn't functioning properly. Klaus walked out of a room, confused by my sudden arrival.

"Hello Caroline."

"I am not here for your polite greetings or your lectures on my safety." I said exasperatedly.

He feigned hurt by placing a hand on his heart. "You wound me love." He said.

"Guess what? I really don't care, so give me a blood bag and you will be fine."

He held his hands up in universal sign of surrender and gestured for me to follow him. I did and was lead into the kitchen. He opened a large fridge, took a blood bag and poured it into a glass. My fangs began to appear and the burning in my throat doubled. I grabbed the glass when he offered it to me. I was gulping the blood in large sips. He offered more which I gladly accepted and then got up to sit on the couch in living room. After finishing I looked up to see his amused expression. He was happy lately. I guessed why was that because it was so rare.

"What?" I said letting out a laugh.

The corners of his beautiful lips quirked up in a small smile. "You really had me scared there past a few moments love." He said.

"Woh! Klaus Mikaelson is afraid of me. I will take that as a compliment" I said surprised.

"What can I say? You are quite unexpected Miss Forbes." He replied with the same smile from before.

"I am not denying it at all." He sat down on the couch beside me.

"So what have you been up to considering my busy schedule the past day?" He asked.

"Important stuff. Stuff keeping me to spend time, you know spending dreadful hours with you. " I asked teasingly..

"I wish you would." He said, honesty dripping from his voice.

"I have better things to do." I replied fully turning to him with a mischievous smile.

"I am sure you have. Have you encountered Marcel?" He asked sighing.

I didn't know what to reply. Wether to deny or accept. I held onto the edge of the couch tightly with my hand.

"Yes, I did." I replied.

"Did he have anything of significance to talk to you about?" He asked me.

"What is with the questioning?"I asked with a laugh.

"I am expecting an answer here love. Beating around the bush isn't my most esteemed forte." His reply came in a stern tone. Knowing there was no way to avoid the situation at hand, I had no choice but to lie.

"Well it was nothing important, at least not to me." I asked.

"And what am I supposed to consider?" He replied.

"Minding your own business?' I asked rather as a question and what surprised me was his smile threatening to come out.

"Very well then but I am not satisfied with your answer just so you know." He remarked.
