Rebekah sauntered in, an amused expression on her face and Klaus slowly backed away and his countenance showed regret. It felt like a needle pricked my heart. He ealked to the nearest window and started gazing outwards with impassiveness
Rebekah's hair were were out of place for the first time. It surprised me but I didn't show it in my expression.
"I should get going." His tone was surly and I fought the urge to roll my eyes. He walked out leaving me with ana bemused Rebekah.
"I hope I didn't interrupt anything of essence." She turned fully towards me.
"Nothing that bothers me." I dismissed with an indifferent smile.
"Am I supposed to believe you?" She said with eyebrows raised
"If you want to but if you don't, that wouldn't make too much of a difference." I replied exasperatedly.
"Maybe your chirpiness ticked him off. Who knows." She said shrugging awhile when I just glared at her.
The front door opened and I turned back to see Elijah making a grand enterancelike always, in a suit and a business aura surrounding him. He didn't look surprised seeing me so I guessed he already knew of me being here.
"Hello Caroline. I heard you were here. Sorry for making you wait but I had to take care of some matters that Rebekah here patently don't think are important enough to be taken into consideration." he said eying her.
"Yeah I came a few days before." I replied sensing the tension between the siblings while he was still glaring at her and then looked towards me with a gentle smile.
Elijah and I didn't interact much when he was in Mystic Falls but you can never feel uncomfortable around him because of his politeness. I was at ease around the originals. Surprising? Yes.
"It was nothing to worry about Elijah. You just have the incredible ability to frat over non sense." said Rebekah.
"We would have seen Rebekah and certainly you would be paying the consequences." And I was definitely confused. What were they talking about? It wasn't my place to ask so I kept my mouth shut.
"I am hungry. Anyone want a meal?"nRebekah suddenly asked.
I hadn't fed in days and my strength was almost vanishing. I tended to keep my hunger in control for a few days as too much blood can sometimes make me out of control. The urge only increased as I fed more but now I needed some blood.
"Yes please!!" I nothing but pleaded.
Rebekah chuckled as she left.
"You all seem happy here. New Orleans is a lively place I guess."
"Indeed it is. It is our home. We left it 300 years ago but had to come back at a point."
"Something is wrong. Isn't it? I feel it but Klaus isn't adamant to give the details. Will you care to enlighten me?"
He was now sitting on the couch and I sat down at the spot I was previously sitting on.
"Sometimes the people we trust the most betray us in worst of ways Caroline and then refuse to even take the blame or to right the wrong and leave us insecure more than we already are." He uttered and it left me dazed, more than ever.
"Someone broke his trust right? You are no better than Klaus. Speaking in moral code language. Seriously?" I said irritatedly which he replied with a simple smile. It was getting on my nerves now. Is it some big secret that no one is supposed to know and it peaked my curiosity more.
