lexi pov

i woke up at around 7:46 am to my phone going off. i was getting a call from my bestfriend kenz. i declined it and laid back down. i do not want to wake up yet. but she called again. "oh my god, okay i'm awake now!" i got up and answered her call.

"wanna go to the lake or some shit, im hella bored. also thanks for declining my call." she said laughing into the phone.

"yah sure. what time? and i wanted to sleep in fuck face" i groaned into the phone.

"whenever you are ready, we can go."

"okay, i'll text you."

"okay, sweet. see ya soon love."

"byee!"

i got up from sitting on my bed and walked down stairs. my mom and little brother mason were sleeping on the couch. finding nemo was playing on the tv. i smiled to myself and turned the tv off. i love my family, me and my mom have a very close connection. i tell her everything. and my little brother mason, he looks up to me for everything.

i walked into the kitchen and grabbed a banana, walking back up to my room. i turned my tv on and shameless started to play. i turned the show off and went to Spotify to play some music while i got ready.

'young and beautiful' by SoMo came on and i started to find a swimsuit. i found a cute one and walked into my bathroom.

i changed into my bikini and then put my hair into a messy bun.

i walked back into my room and grabbed my keys, phone and sunglasses, walking out and downstairs.

my mom was sitting on the couch awake now. "morning mom." i said, walking to the front door.

"morning sunshine." she smiled at me.

"im gonna go to the beach with kenz for a while, is that alright?" i asked her, slipping my burks on.

"yes, thats fine, just be safe."

i walked out the door and to my jeep wrangler. i bought this when i got my licenses a year ago, i have been saving up for it since i moved to california with my mom and brother 6 years ago. i saw everyone here in california always have one, and i knew that i wanted one for myself.

i got in and drove to kenz's house. kenz cant drive yet, she is 15, almost 16. i'm 17 on the other hand. but let me tell you, just because she is two years younger, that doesn't stop us from being friends.

i got to her house pretty quick, since it only being 5 minutes away. i could see her talking to her older brother james from her window. growing up i had a fat crush on her brother, but he's 24. why he still lives with his parents? i don't know.

i honked my horn and both their heads turned towards my car from inside the house. i waved and kenz walked to her door.

she walked out and to my car. "sup sexy momma" kenz said.

"sup hottie."

she was wearing a black and white stripped one piece swimsuit.

i backed out of her drive way. "okay so guess what?" kenz said.

i looked at her and smiled, she always has something to tell me.

"what?" i asked her, giggling at her seriousness.

"so this really hot guy, his name is payton, he added me on snap. we have been talking for almost 4 days now. he told me he wants to meet up, but that is hella scary because i'v never met him before. like what if he wants to just have sex and leave? or even kill me?" she ranted.

"look, just keep talking to him. and if you're so worried about it, ask him." i told her, not really knowing how to respond.

"you're right, i'm gonna ask him if he wants to kill me." she said sarcastically.

i rolled my eyes at her, "hey, either take a shot, or hide from him in fear, that's all i'm saying." i shrugged.

"actually, that's true, i'm gonna invite him to the lake. he lives like 15 minutes away from me, and since you're gonna be with me, he won't do anything." she said opening snap on her phone.

"great, you're getting us both killed." i joked.
