It was just like any ordinary regular day at your house. You and Mena were togther cuddled up on the living room sofa watching a movie laughing and smiling at the film when suddenly the phone rings....
The two of us looked at the phone that was on the table. "That's me" Mena said reaching out for his phone. I paused the movie and sat up giving Mena some space for his call. "Hello?" Mena said. He looks at me and smiled. I smiled back but I couldn't make out what the other person through the other line was saying. "Yes this is him" Mena said in a confused look. My heart begins to race. Is Mena in trouble? Mena then sighs and smiles even more. "Oh my goodness seriously?" He said with a time of relief. I calmed down knowing that Mena is relived and maybe whoever was calling, didn't bring bad news. "Wow. Thank you so much. You have made my day. I'll reach out as soon as I can. Have a nice day." Mena smiled and hung up.
"Well? Who was it?" I asked. Mena smiled even more and got up, jumping and screaming. As happy as I was for Mena, I didn't know what was happening. "What Mena. Tell me" I say. Mena comes up to me and grabs me, picking me up and spinning me around. "I got it Y/N. I got the part!" He cheers. Flashbacks from all the times Mena has mentioned me that he auditioned for a role in the movie came to me. "Oh yes! I remember. Mena you were so nervous about that!" I replied. "Well I got the part!" Mena said ecstatic. My eyes widened as I hugged him tighter, still being held by him. "Oh Mena!! Yay! Congratulations!" I cheered. He places me down and puts his head on my shoulders. "You're looking at the next Aladdin!" He said happily.
I smiled. Aladdin. That was it. Mena has been keeping the role a secret. And now that he got it he finally told me. "Mena that's wonderful! Oh my God congrats. I"m so proud of you!" I say hugging him. "I couldn't have done it without you. You motivated me." He said. I looked down. Blushing. I smiled. "Well you know that's what best friends are for." I replied. Mena and I have been in friendship for so long we grew so close to each other. Heck, I even grew feelings for him, that I like him so much my heart goes crazy when the boy smiles. "So what now?" I ask. "Well I'm headed to wherever they want me to go." He replied. My heart sank. "You're leaving? Already?" I said. Mena shook his head. "They told me that just now. I told them I'd call back for more details but yeah next week." He said. It was at this moment I knew that I wasn't going to see Mena... My best friend and my crush anymore. "Oh." I said sitting back down.
I grabbed my blanket and wrapped myself around it. Who am I kidding. This is Mena's moment and I shouldn't ruin it. "Well Mena I'm so happy for you. You're going to make a great Aladdin." I say smiling and changing my tone and voice so that Mena knows that I'm very proud of him. Mena smiled and sat down next to me. "You know I can't just leave you." He said softly. He places his hand on top of my hand and looks at me in the eye."Come with me." He said. "What?" He bit his lip. "Come with me Y/N. I want you to come with me."
I moved closer to him. "Mena. I-" I began to say but he placed his hand on my cheek now. "Y/N I know this might not be the best time to tell you this. But I like you. Like, like you, like you. We've known each other for so long we've gotten so close." He said. "Look at us, we even cuddle like if we're a couple." He added. I began to blush and smile. "Mena. I'm glad you feel that way because I feel the same way too." I replied. Mena chuckled. "I want you to be with me and experience my Aladdin journey with me." He said. "Let me share this whole new world with you." He sang. I laughed, playfully slapping him. "Well?" He asked nervously. I sighed as much as I liked the boy. I knew I couldn't go.
"Mena. I can't just leave. I can't just leave and drop everything." I said. "Yes you can" he said. "Oh really? So what am I going to do while you're shooting?" I asked. He looked at me and said " I just want you to come with me." He then grabbed my hands and held them. "You make me so happy and confident." He says moving closer to me. He looks at my eyes then travels down to my lips. "I couldn't have asked for anyone better in my life." He whispered and gently places his lips on mine, kissing me gently.
I take this kiss in surprise, but then realized that Mena actually kissing me. I kissed back, moving my hands to his shoulders as he moved his towards my waist. He pulls me closer to him as he guides me to straddle him. After what seemed like a good minute he pulls himself away from me and smiles, taking a piece of my hair and tucking it behind my ear. "Please Y/N" he adds. "It's not like you're going to be alone. I'll be here with you." He said. "Alright. I'll go with you. But..." I said. "I'm not staying. I'll go with you for a good two weeks then come back. I'll plan visits and travels but I can't stay." I said caressing his cheek. Mena frowns but realized that I also have a life that is not associated with acting. "You're right. I can't force you." He sighed. "I'm going to be gone for so long." He says. "And now you tell me you like me?" I chuckled. Mena chuckled as well. "I didn't think this would happen." "But you're still coming with me to start." He said. I laughed. "Yes Mena. Of course." I replied. "I want you to be apart of my journey in this role. So thank you for everything you have done so far to get me this role." He said kissing me lightly. "Well that's what-" I began to say but froze. "Girlfriends" he stated. I blushed. "Girlfriend?" I asked. "Girlfriend" he said pointing at me. "Boyfriend" I said pointing at him. He nodded and took my hand and kissed it. "That's what girlfriends are for. Here to support." I finished. We both smiled. And continued to cuddle picking up where we left off. Looks like I'm going with Mena to start off his journey.
