7. The Umbrella

A Few Days Ago-
"W-What are you saying?" I asked. "If Itachi finds out we're dating-" "So! I-It doesn't mean we have to stop seeing each other!" I shouted, pushing Naruto-Sensei towards the wall, I felt like I was making a face, I could feel my chest start to ache. I lowered my head, biting my lower lip.

We were outside his apartment. *Shaaa* It began to rain.

"Sasuke." Naruto said his hand, reaching for my face. I slapped his hand, "..do you still like Itachi? Are you just dating me because..I'm his little brother?" "Thats not it, I already told you that I liked you. I just don't want Itachi..taking you away from me. So we have to stay low." Naruto said. I looked up at him. He laughed and caressed my face, "Haha, you look like a mess even though you didn't cry. You should go now. He must be waiting for you at home."  "..fine." I said backing away from Naruto. I walked down the stairs and stopped. I glanced back and saw him watching me. He smiled and waved goodbye. I blushed and walked off. Even if Itachi finds out we're dating, if he tries to separate us, I'll find a way to be with Naruto-Sensei.

"Why haven't you told me he was there?" Itachi asked, crossing his arms. I looked away. "Don't ignore me. Why are you acting like this? Where did the old Sasuke go?" Itachi asked suddenly grabbing me. I pushed him, glaring at him, "It's all your fault! The reason why my parents is gone is because of you! You forced me to leave our family behind, I never wanted this! So just leave me alone!" I ran off but bumped into Kisame. "Whoa, what's going on here?" He asked. He looked at me then Itachi. "You could stop dropping and picking me up from school, starting from now on." I said and walked upstairs to my room.

Present-
I looked out the window, it's going to rain today. "Tsk." I clicked my tongue and grabbed my umbrella. "You're going with me today." Kisame said, spinning his car keys on his finger. I looked at him, "I'm not going with you. It's just a little rain." "Doesn't matter. Let's go." Kisame said opening the door. I walked out, opened my umbrella and walked off. "Hey! Get back here!" Kisame shouted. I ignored him.

Time Skip To Class-
It began to rain more, I looked out the window. It won't stop raining. I sighed and rested my chin on my palm. A group of girls were whispering near me. "I heard Naruto-Sensei agreed to having coffee with Hinata-Sensei! It's a scandal, did he break up with his girlfriend?" One of them asked. Huh? I stood up and walked towards them, "What are you girls talking about?" "S-Sasuke-kun!" They stammered, turning to look at me. "W-We just overheard from the other girls in the other class that around lunch, Naruto-Sensei called out Hinata-Sensei." One of them said. "When she came back, they said she looked happy." Another one said crossing her arms. "What if it was a misunderstanding?" I asked. "Nope! She was so in the dumps because he rejected her. Now she's happy all of a sudden. We know because we're girls and we have that intuition." The third one said, waving her arms around. I looked away, I don't have that intuition but we're all not that stupid to see what's in front of us. I'll have to ask him, privately. I crossed my arms, "Tsk." "S-Sasuke?" The first one asked, stammering. "It's nothing. I'll be going first." I said, grabbing my bag and walking out. I headed towards the teachers room.

I stared as Hinata-Sensei walked in the teachers room. I gripped the umbrella in my hand. I leaned my back against the door, lowering my head. They were talking but I couldn't hear anything. I'm the lowest of the low, to eavesdrop like this. I pressed my ear against the door and listened. "I-Is it true that you're.. not dating anyone?" Hinata-Sensei asked. I closed my eyes. I could feel the weariness in my knees. "So you believe the students? They're just rumors." Naruto-Sensei said. "Ah, But then why'd you accept my invitation?" She asked. "It's just a meeting, for teachers. What the students don't know is that-" "Hey-!" Sakura shouted from the other side of the hall. I irked and glared at her. Sakura!

As she was about to say something, I ran towards her and pulled her back, dropping something. As I hid behind the corner of the hall, I peeked at the teachers room. They didn't come out. "What's wrong?" Sakura asked, peeking as well. "Nothing. Aren't you supposed to be home, recovering?" I asked, we both began to walk off. "I wanted to hear thanks from you. Besides, it seems like I managed to stop what would've been chaos if there wasn't a distraction. How did Itachi-San handle it?" Sakura asked. "Bad, I guess. I said some..over the board things to him yesterday." I said. "You're too hard on Itachi-San. He isn't a bad guy. You only see him that way because he was a love rival." Sakura said. We headed to the outside, Sakura opened her umbrella. Huh? I turned left and right, where's my umbrella? "Pft! You lost something?" Sakura asked giggling. I groaned, "I must've dropped it while I ran." "Ah, we can share the umbrella! I've always wanted too! With Sasuke-Kun.." Sakura said suddenly getting embarrassed. Oh geez. "Fine-" "Ah! I finally caught up! Sasuke-Kun, is this yours?" Someone asked. We turned around and saw Naruto-Sensei. I irked, what is he doing here? I looked at his hand, my umbrella. This is the worst, now he knows I was by the teachers room. "..thanks." I said, grabbing my umbrella. "Aw, that's too bad, I wanted to share-" I grabbed her umbrella, yanking it, "Let's go." Sakura looked at me surprised and smiled, "Ok!" I held it for the both of us as we walked off. Sakura waved goodbye to Naruto-Sensei who was watching us. I closed my eyes, this is.. "Is it fine leaving like that?" Sakura asked, suddenly holding onto my arm. I flinched, "Oi. What are you doing?" "Leave it to me, Sasuke-Kun." Sakura said, smiling. She's an idiot. She pulled my arm and leaned towards me. She's only going to hurt herself even more, her feelings for me, I mean. "Sakura-"

"Sasuke." Naruto-Sensei interrupted, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards him. Eh? We looked at him surprised. "Sorry Sakura-Chan but you should walk home by yourself. I have to discuss something with Sasuke." Naruto said coldly, still holding onto my arm. I-It hurts. Sakura smiled, giving me a thumbs up and walked off, dejected. I pulled my arm, "What are you doing?" "I should be asking you that." Naruto said. The downpour was nuts. We were soaked. I could feel my fingers go cold. I looked at him, not that clearly, "How could I let her walk alone home, in a weather like this? Especially you, you're a teacher!" "..I care about you more, Sasuke. I know I already failed my duties as a teacher but as a lover, I don't want to lose you." Naruto said suddenly taking off his suit coat and resting it on my head. Ah. I lowered my head, heating up. "..I have an umbrella-" "Don't ruin the mood! I don't want you to catch a cold. Come to my place it's closer." Naruto said. "Didn't you say we should go on a break?" I asked, my heart aching just from remembering his words. Naruto sighed and embraced me, his wet shirt pressing against me. "I take it back. Who cares if he finds out. It was wrong and insensitive of me to say we should go on break when we just finally started being lovers." Naruto said. I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed him, "..don't ever say that again. I'll hurt you." Naruto chuckled. "And about that offer..I'll accept." I said, my face heating up as I burrowed my face in his chest.
