𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 didn't talk for two weeks.

She went through hell in those two weeks without him. Wouldn't it be for James and Lily or Marlene, then, she was sure, she wouldn't have survived.

Did he really have to switch seats with peter? She knew he was petty when he wanted to be, but seriously, did he have to be that petty?

Elysian was just about to sit on her chair when Sirius suddenly stood up and went to Remus' and Peters table, forcing Peter to pack his stuff and sit next to her.

She wanted to punch him, that twatwaffle. The pain was literally written on her face, then Remus gave her an apologetic look and mouthed 'sorry' to her, giving her an 'I don't know what's wrong with him either' bullshit.

His werewolf ass didn't make an effort either. He always looked away when their eyes met, getting all shy and acting innocent.

She was so furious at both of them.

Since James and Lily sat in front of them, James turned around, having seen the dumb act Sirius pulled and asked her quietly if she was okay.

He was such a caring, nice guy. Elysian could have punched some sense into Lily right there and then──

With a forced smile, she nodded.

'You two. Talk. Now.'

After James yanked their arms harshly──boy was pissed──, locked them inside an empty classroom, and demanded the two to have a talk, they stood there in silence.

No one said anything.

Well, she sneezed once and he muttered a stiff 'bless you'. Elysian would be lying if she would say that didn't awake the butterflies in her stomach.

You must understand. He hasn't talked to her for a while and she so missed his voice, you guys have no idea. It was just so deep and sometimes husky.

Remus is very lucky to have him, she bet Sirius' husky voice gives him a boner.

Well, back to the actual topic, they haven't said shit for, like, ten minutes or so until Sirius decided to speak up first.

'What is your problem?' He looked genuinely confused and curious.

She scoffed, 'Don't tell me you haven't noticed yet, Sirius. You are my problem. Actually, you and Remus are.'

Sirius studied her for a second.

'Is our relationship bothering you? Are you jealous because you don't have a boyfriend?' He gave her a teasing smirk at the second question.

That evil, annoying, handsome, l──

Narrowing her eyes at him, she snapped, 'It's not because I don't have a boyfriend. It's because you aren't my boyfriend, Sirius.' A soft shade of pink clouded her cheeks, but she didn't care. She was furious.

Seeing the confused expression on his face again, she sighed and revealed her secret, 'Sirius, I am in love with you.'

That's not how Elysian imagined her confession to go. She imagined it more dramatic, to be honest. She wished it would have gone like her imagination because the reality was just too harsh.

Sirius just stared at her like she had lost her mind before laughing like a maniac.

'The fuck are you laughing at me for, black,' she hissed, her arms crossed.

'You'──laughter──'are in love'──big laughter──'with me?' He wiped some laugh tears off his eyes and then looked at her again, this time, amused.

'I still don't understand what's so funny.'

'You can't be in love with me, Ely. You didn't do anything when I messed around with all those girls. In fact, you were snickering at them behind their backs because they fell for my charm.'

'Well, I assume you've never heard of hiding your emotions.'

'You know I'm a natural at that.'

She rolled her eyes. 'This is supposed to be serious──do not smirk at me like that, Sirius Black! I've been in love with you since our third year, you imbecile! And finding out that you're gay and in a relationship with Remus, my other best friend ferfuckssake, hurts me so fucking much, you have no fucking idea!'

His eyes gazed with sadness. '. . . Ely, I didn──'

'Don't come at me with that bullshit, okay? I know. I know. And that's fine. No one knew it anyway.' Tears welled up in her eyes. 'It's just . . . have you any idea how much that hurts? Imagine yourself in my shoes, Sirius. Imagine you were in love with Remus while he is in a happy relationship with someone else and you can't do anything about it because you don't want to fuck things up for him.'

She harshly wiped the tears that have been running down her face off with her arm. Sirius looked at her like a wounded dog.

Well, his animagus is a dog after all.

'I . . . I don't know what to say.'

'Then don't say anything at all.'

'But I should say something. Look, I am really sorry for not noticing your feelings for me. I don't understand why you love me in the first place. I'm an asshole. Well, a pretty awesome asshole'──she glared at him──'which is not the point! Elysian, I am so sorry for hurting you. I didn't mean to! I feel so bad right now.'

He ran his hand through his amazing hair. 'If I would have known how uncomfortable I made you feel when kissing Moony, I would have stopped. Fuck, why didn't I notice──'

'It's okay, Sirius,' she interrupted his rambling and forced out a chuckle. 'It really is. You didn't know! And now give your best friend a hug before I change my mind.'

Best friend.

Delighted, he walked towards her and embraced her in a warm, welcoming hug. His hug was like a zephyr, it made her forget all the pain for a minute.

Sirius pulled away, still standing at arms length. 'I'm glad to have my best friend back,' he grinned at her.

There it was again. Best friend. Elysian wished she could erase the 'best' and add 'girl' instead.

That would have been nice.
