Chapter 6

"Divide and conquer, huh...?", Todoroki mumbled as he looked at all the villains he'd frozen. "Forgive me for saying so, but... It's hard to imagine you guys as any more than thugs with quirks you can't even handle."

"Bastard!", one of the villains spat. "The second he was warped here...!!"

Todoroki didn't reply and seemed to be thinking about something. I took this as my chance and left my hiding spot.

"Another one...!", a villain said.

Todoroki looked up and our eyes met. For a second I was mesmerized by his heterochromatic eyes, but I quickly recomposed myself.

"Todoroki-kun", I began. "Sorry I couldn't help, I didn't want to be frozen."

"That's fine", Todoroki answered. "To be honest I didn't even see you, I could have frozen you."

"From what I've seen, there's only four or five really dangerous villains", I concluded. "These are just low-level extras brought here to take care of us students. They must have a plan."

"You're right", Todoroki answered. "Perhaps-"

"Hey, stop talking about us like we're not here!", a villain complained.

I turned my head, my tail swishing from left to right out of irritation.

"At this rate, your skin will rot away from frostbite", Todoroki said in a low tone. "But I'm trying to become a hero, and heroes don't do such horrible things. What makes you think you can kill All Might? Tell us the plan."

The thugs hastily explained their plan to kill All Might with this being they called Nomu. Apparently it had been modified to withstand All Might's attacks at 100%.

"Damn, I can't leave them here, but I can't let them go either", Todoroki murmured after the explanation ended, glancing towards the plaza where Aizawa was fighting.

"Todoroki-kun, I can take care of the villains here", I offered. "You should see if you can help sensei at the plaza. I'll join you later."

"Are you sure?", Todoroki asked.

"I told you last time, didn't I?", I grinned as I created one of my favorite weapons to use. "You shouldn't underestimate me." I twirled a large, blood-red scythe in between my fingers as I looked at Todoroki. "I'll take care of it."

Todoroki nodded in understanding and took a step back. He knelt down and touched his hand to the floor. Starting from the place of contact, the ice began to melt. The villains began to break free within a few seconds.

"I'll see you in a bit, (l/n)", Todoroki said before disappearing in the direction of the plaza.

I watched his receding figure for a few seconds. Then I twirled my scythe again before having it rest on my shoulder.

All right. That was all big-shot talk, but I actually have to take out these villains. Look lively now, (y/n).

I followed my own instructions and smirked, readying my scythe. "It's been a while since I used this", I purred. "Let's see how well you can counter it."

"You little...!", one of the villains said.

"Let's see if you still have that arrogant grin on your face after we beat you to a pulp!", another added.

My smirk didn't falter. Instead I tilted my head to the side and surged forward.

I whistled and let my scythe dematerialize. I glanced at all the unconscious villains on the grounds and tilted my head to the side.
