America pov:
it was night time at the campsite, we were packing up so we can go home. indo and Malay was at the car and Canada was packing up the tenth and heading out to the car "I'm going to the car now ame so I can put the tenth at the cargo I'll see you there" he said "but don't take to long we need to leave" he reminded me and left.
I look around the area only seeing Philip sitting at the campfire again I walk towards to him.
"why are you still here dude? Canada indo and Malay is at the car now..." I said to him he only shrugged still looking at the campfire tired...
"ye...I just wanted to seat for a moment before the long field trip again..." he sounded tired, well I don't blame him its night time but I felt a tinged of sadness in his tone my mind shifted to curiosity but more worried...
I sat next to him.
"hey is something wrong?" I asked him softly he looked at me for a moment but looked away "Nah I'm fine I'm just tired," he said smiling a little bit but I felt something wrong I snort "yeah, no," I said to him.
but instead of a confused face looking back at me, he chuckled shrugging "its obvious? is it?" he smirked a little looking at me.
"Yup, just the aura around you made the case..." I looked at him "so what's wrong?" I asked him again I heard him sigh.
"well, you know independence day is your special day right?" I nodded agreeing with him "and I never told this to anyone but when its independence day i..." he looked down "I always went to the hero's graveyard with my brother with flowers to give it to my dad..."
I looked at him feeling guilty again but I coped it with a guilty smile...
"I'm sorry..."
I whispered to him apologetically, he looked at me confused "sorry for what?"
"I'm sorry that I didn't save your father..." I said to him quietly he looked away expecting him to yell at me but he chuckled "people die ame you can't stop that even if you have the power of the world" Philip picked a flower out the ground and he held it like its the most fascinating thing in the world.
"our past is never the best our independence is like a medal you wear every fucking day saying that you won this...you freed us...you saved us..." he whispered, "I always celebrate independence with the people in my country or my brother for exact...but there's always something in my mind..." he put down the flower.
he was about to say more but he was cut off when--
"BOO!"
Malay jumps out of the bush startling us I accidentally slip out of my seat and fall to the ground.
"ow," I said emotionless Malay looked at me confuse "what no emotion?" "my emotions ain't free when it comes to you" I smirked at him "awww," he said sadly "we should go now guys that's why I'm here to show you to the motherland" "you mean the car?" Philip corrected him.
"whatever you believe now come on." Philip stood up and gave me a hand and I took it politely "thanks" I said to him "no problemo" he said I looked down realizing our hand is intertwined for too long and I think Philip notice and quickly remove his hand.
"oh ummm...sorry" he whispered hiding his face for some reason I felt my face heat up "u-uhh...its okay," I said to hide my stuttering.
"yeah...let's just...go," he said quickly and walk off and for a moment I just stood there feeling my heart pound and my face heat up.
