Where there's Smoke there's fire a Chicago fire and PD fan fic

In a flash of light.

      

Erin POV: people say when you die your life flashes before you. However, no one mentioned an out of body experience.

Jay POV: we felt the force of the explosion.

Voight: code one, I repeat code one everyone out of the building!!!

Me: where's Erin?!!

Adam: she and Antonio are downstairs!

Voight: OH MY GOD!

We ran out of the building we barely got out before there was another explosion.

Me: can anyone survive being so close to the explosion?

Voight: if they die that sonofabitch Franco will not see the inside of a prison cell.

Kelly POV: we barely got into the firehouse when we received a MAYDAY call.

                  Announcer: MAYDAY, MAYDAY INTELLIGENCE IS UNDER ATTACK!!!

We shared a look and raced to the scene. When we arrived other trucks where at the scene the members of intelligence looked discombobulated. I noticed to people were missing and it felt like my stomach had disappeared. I went straight to Voight :

Me: where are they?!!

Voight: they where downstairs, taking the suspect to the cage.

            He looked off into the distance.

Me: is there a chance that she's alive!

Voight: I don't know.

That's when the building collapsed.

Erin  POV : I stared at my body : blood draining off the side of my head, sweating, eyes closed I looked dead. I walked over to where Antonio was standing his eyes where vaguely open.

Antonio POV: I felt a searing pain go through my bones. There was an rumble as the roof came toward us. Erin was a few feet away from me I tried to reach for her ,but I couldn't reach out.

Kelly POV: I went to Boden,

Me: let me go in.

Boden: you can't go in by yourself.

Casey came up, I will go with him.

Me: really?

Casey: you did the same for me.

Chief : if that ceiling falls any further I want the two of you out.

Me: OK chief.

Erin I am coming, I love you.

                                                   Chapter 12

Erin POV: I stared at myself counting the people I've failed.

           1. I promised the Garcia's I would put the man who killed there daughter behind bars for life.

           2. I never made peace with my mother.

           3. never told Kelly how much I loved him.

           4. never confessed what Annie and I had done to Rickie Skanneville.

I kept thinking back to this morning I was right something was up. Antonio was trying to move.

Me: hey, take it easy!

That's when I realized no one could here me. That's when I smelled smoke.

Me: damn.

 

Antonio must of seen it, that's why he was trying  to move. A small flame erupted on the side opposite us. Something in me clicked because I saw my body move. That's when I realized its up to me to want to live, but did I?

Kelly POV: we managed to clear some of the debris there was  a whole small enough for one person to go through at a time.

Me: you ready for this Casey?

Casey: let's find them.

Erin POV: I managed to get the jacket to cover my face, how, who knows? it was tiring.

There was a gray mist surrounding us; smoke. My body coughed , my "spirit" couldn't feel anything. I walked around assessing our surroundings. There was a sound coming from above, I tried to get myself to call out but I couldn't . I was too weak.

Kelly POV: we were close I could feel it.

Me: ERIN!!!

Antonio POV : DOWN HERE!! damn my ribs hurt.

There was a loud boom ,and the two fireman came toppling to the floor.

Kelly: Erin!!!

He scooped her up into his arms, she moaned. Then the ceiling came on top of us.

                             Chapter 13

Erin POV: I was back in my body I felt pain. I saw Kelly next to me I cried his name and tapped his shoulder.

Me: Kelly

Kelly: you're awake?

Me: where are the others?

Then we heard a moan next to us. Casey was trying to move Antonio.

Casey: we have to get out of here.

Mayday! Mayday! lieutenant Severide, lieutenant Casey! repeat Mayday! We heard the call over the radio.

Kelly: can you move?

Me: yeah.

Kelly: Casey, Antonio, can you move?

Them: yeah.

Kelly: let's get out of here.

We managed to go up the half there stairs. However, the door was blocked by debris. Kelly asked me if I was OK with standing on my own. I said OK, I decided to rest my head by standing against the wall.  The world seem to disappear into a reflection of light when the door gave way.  The rest came a blur Kelly called my name I managed to get to the ambulance without collapsing then I was transported to the hospital.

                                         Chapter 14:

Jay POV: I was glad Erin and  Antonio were alright. I looked at what was left of intelligence half of the building had efficiently collapsed. Shay and Rafferty took Erin to the hospital Kelly went with her so I decided to talk to Casey.

Me: thanks for getting them out.

Casey: no problem.

More ambulances arrived and they took us took the hospital to be checked out.

Erin POV:

Doc: looks like you will have some surgery done because your skulls been compromised.

Me: fine.

They said they had to prepare the theater we waited an our. Kelly and I talked, I told him that I loved him. wow I never told anyone that before. They pumped me full of something I think it was morphine. I fell asleep it was more like a gray void where I felt nothing.

Kelly POV: I watched thorough the window as they operated on her , her blue eyes were closed and the light showed on her pale face  like an emotionless halo.

Then she started crashing.
