Unfinished

His hands sneaking slowly under my shirt, inching them up.

His fingers ghosting over my warm belly.

I feel my heart pumping unbelievably fast.

Aelin

I pry my eyes open and try to steady my breath.

It's just a dream It's just a dream It's just a dream It's just a dream.

I repeat those words in my head, and eventually, my breathing goes back to normal.

I sit on the edge of my bed and try to shake the blurriness from my eyes. I finally manage to balance my hurt feet on the cold ground.
Then I hear it..

"Everything okay, princess?"

I stumble backward at the surprise of Prince Charming. Of course he'd be here. He's comfortably sitting on the couch that's beside my closed window. I can see that night has already crept.
I decide to ignore his question.

And his presence.

And him.

Well, technically speaking, I can't ignore his presence.

So I only end up ignoring his irrelevant question.

I finally gather my courage and manage to look at him. His eyebrows are raised.

But there's something different in him this time.
His eyes... He has black round circles around...

How long have I slept? Has he been watching me all night?

"15 hours."

I look up, realizing I've spoken my thoughts louder than anticipated. I close my eyes and let out a heavy breath.

"And yes, I've been here all night," He goes on, "Although you may consider getting clothes on."

It takes me a while until I realize that I'm in my underwear and bra.

"Close your eyes, or turn around, I swear I'll tear you to pieces if you keep looking". He doesn't move his eyeballs for an inch.

I run back to my bed and crawl under the sheets, "Hand me my clothes. Now."

He lazily gets up and walks to my closet. He comes back with a sleeveless pink dress and hands it to me.

I don't move. He's still staring at my blanket-wrapped body.
He finally turns around, which gives me time to unwrap the sheets from my naked body and quickly put the dress on.

I need help with the back buttons.

"I will leave you in peace now." He heads towards my room door.

"Wait," I blurt out the word so fast, and I'm shaken by my sudden confidence.
Theon turns around, "I need help with my... uh... buttons..." He goes back and stands infront of me. I turn my back to him.

My body shivers as his fingers brush my skin. He senses my reaction and brings his fingers up across my spine. I freeze. The heat rises to the top of my head. I feel the blood pumping to where his fingers are in contact with my body. I close my eyes for a moment. My body is so weak so numb and so controlled by his touch.

Then he starts buttoning the dress and I open my eyes to his reflection in the mirror behind me.
Theon's eyes are carefully watching my back, taking in every inch of my exposed skin. He locks the last button.

I turn around to see he's already on his way out.

"Thank you," he turns around, "Theon," he smiles, "for taking care of me," he then closes the door and locks it again, before I could add another word. I'm all alone now.

Great.
---------------------------------------------

"Good morning," I say as I spot Zander and Theon chatting in the garden.

I bow. Zander gently picks my hand up and kisses it with his lips.

I feel Theon's tense look on my face as this happens.
Theon gets on his feet, and to my surprise, walks past his brother and me.

"Theon, where are you heading?" Zander says while he's still holding my hand. I feel Theon's tense eyes shifting to our direction.
He takes a few steps back and picks my hand from his brother's. He then pulls me towards the direction of the gate. His hold gets stronger, my hand is sweaty.

"Mind your own business, Zander."

I hear Zander clear his throat.

"Now, if you may excuse us." Theon unlocks the gate and leads me to the other side of the garden.
I finally break free of his hold, but he grabs both my hands and twists my steady temple so I face him.

"You're mine."

--------------------------------------

We're currently in my room. I am sitting on my couch while Theon is nervously walking across the room.

"What's wrong, babe?" I tease. He doesn't reply.

He's not in the mood for jokes. I get it.

"Why do you care?" I look up at his sudden response.

I try to think of a proper answer. But I can't.
I try to find the answer, but there's a place in my mind that's refusing to admit to what's going on. It's like my mind is on snooze mode.

I snatch myself out of my thoughts only to look up at a staring Theon.
He's staring at me. He's waiting for me to reply.

"I don't know." That was the only answer I could come up with.
Or maybe I do, but I still can't seem to tell him, or even myself why.

He goes back to pacing around in my room, and I stare at my hands.

I finally manage to get up and walk up to him. He freezes then turns to face me.

I smile.

In a sudden move, Theon picks me up, then gently puts me down on my bed.

"Aelin..."

Theon breathes my name, and what happens next happens too fast.

He's leaning closer and our noses are touching. I'm leaning in too.

I can't think clearly about what's happening around me.

His hands are slowly sneaking under my shirt and are inching up. His fingers ghosting over my warm belly.

I feel my heart pumping unbelievably fast.

And all I know next is that I'm being kissed.

And I'm kissing back.
