sierra jerked up in a cold sweat, panting heavily. the nightmare she just had was like no other.her eyes darted around the room, looking for any aliens.
gabriel scratched his head and sat up, making sierra jump. she didn't even realize that he was next to her.
"are you okay?" he asked, running his hands through his hair. "you look... frightened."
she looked at him and swallowed the huge lump in her throat.
"uh, yeah. i had a bad dream, that's all." he told him. he nodded.
"do you want me to get you some water?" he asked.
she nodded. "sure, thanks."
they both looked down to see gabriel's arm still around her waist. their eyes widened as they looked up at each other and awkwardly moved away.
he stood up from the mattress and went into the kitchen, stepping over the mess.
her eyes widened when it finally clicked in her mind that they had been sleeping. together. in the same bed.
blush spread quickly across her cheeks. she already had an idea of how things turned out.
dariush made zhen and alex sleep together so that he could have his own bed. typical.
she actually didn't mind. alex and zhen obviously had a connection between each other and sleeping with gabriel beat sleeping with dariush, who she could hear loudly snoring in the other room.
gabriel came out from the kitchen and handed her a glass of water. she smiled at him as she took it from him and began gulping it down.
"th-thanks, gabriel."
"do you want to talk about it?" he asked. she set down the glass on the nightstand next to her.
"talk about what?"
"your dream." he said, sitting down across from her. she looked down and shrugged.
"i'm good. i k-kinda forgot what even happened in it. it was one of those where you're falling and suddenly wake up." she told him. he nodded and chuckled. they were silent for a moment before she spoke up again.
"i hope you don't think of me different. because i came from juvie." he said, looking at his hands.
"you did nothing wrong, gabriel. besides, i-it's not like you killed someone or anything." she replied, shrugging. "what was it like, anyways?"
he looked back up at her. "i wasn't there for long. and i always thought that juvie separated genders, but the one i went to didnt. and the girls were..."
"thirsty?" she finished, smiling. he laughed.
"yeah. but it's not as horrifying as people may think it is."
sierra nodded. she was surprised at how calm the others were, especially dariush. they were silent for a moment as gabriel scratched his head.
"d-do you think this is the end of the world?" she asked suddenly, fiddling with the end of her flannel.
"hey, don't think about that. plus if we keep on the right track, we may be able to save the world. we're so close." he reassured her. she gave him a small smile before it quickly faded.
"i know. but there's so many things i haven't done. l-like ride on a plane, or go cliff diving, or take my f-first-
"don't worry about that. i promise we're gonna get through this, no matter how much you doubt yourself." he said, his smile growing wider.
"thank you, gabriel." she whispered. he always knew what to say somehow, and his words always made her feel better.
even though there was only the moonlight lighting up the room, he could somehow still see her big sparkly brown eyes. they were his favorite feature of hers.
she found herself admiring his face. he had tons of beauty marks scattered around his face, which made him look even cuter in her opinion.
they kept eye contact as gabriel reached out and tucked her hair behind her ear. her heart and mind began racing.
she had no idea how many times he stopped himself from almost dropping everything and kissing her in that one day. he bit his lip, and that's when she knew she couldn't hold back anymore, neither could he.
"fuck it." she sat up and leaned forward, grabbing her collar placing her lips on his.
they were in the middle of an apocalypse, but who cares? if they died, they died. she knew she had to take at least one risk while she was still alive.
he didn't hesitate to kiss her back, wrapping his hands around the back of her neck to pull her closer. the kiss was fast and little bit sloppy, but neither of them cared.
he rested his hands on her thighs, only exciting her even more. she shuffled a bit on his lap, making him let out a small groan. she smiled into the kiss, knowing that she had an effect on him.
their lips stayed connected as gabriel pushed her back onto the bed. he hovered over her as their lips moved fast and in sync. she ran her hands through his hair as he ran his hands up the sides of her waist, not once breaking the kiss.
gabriel pulled away and began to trail kissed down her neck, making her heart start beating even faster. she wouldn't be surprised if he could hear it. he explored her neck, sucking and biting. it hurt but felt good at the same time.
she could not believe she was doing this. there were literal aliens roaming the earth and waiting to rip them apart but here she was making out with gabriel on a pull out couch.
that definitely wasnt how she imagined her first kiss would be like but she didnt even care.
"you're so beautiful." he whispered before connecting their lips again. she tugged at his hair, making him kiss her harder.
they jumped apart when they heard loud banging. they winced as they heard someone fall off the bed in the other room, assuming it was dariush.
alex, zhen, and dariush ran out and quickly told gabriel and sierra to get up. the two immediately suspected it was aliens.
the two heavily rolled their eyes. how ordinary was it that an alien would interrupt their kiss?
luckily the others didn't catch them in the position they were recently in, or a whole lot of fussing would of came out of dariush.
"we gotta go!" zhen whispered as everyone left behind.
gabriel and sierra followed close behind with flushed cheeks, swollen lips, and intertwined hands.
