Dolly anxiously waited by the front door, any second now her parents would be here to pick her up. She woke Penelope up to tell her, but fell right back asleep.
The front door swung open once Simon pulled up front. Dolly quickly rushed over to the car and jumped in.
"Did you have fun?" Simon asked as he drove off.
"Yeah I guess so. Too many new people and all the noise was just, overwhelming." She told.
"That may be our fault, not letting you go to any of that stuff before." Simon assured. Dolly scrunched her face up, even if they did let her go and be social, it didn't feel like something she'd like.
"Here, I gotta get gas real quick. Wanna go in and get a soda?" Simon asked as he pulled in a gas station. Dolly raised a brow as Simon handed her money.
"Seriously?" She felt like it was a trick.
"Yeah, get me a fountain drink too. We'll tell mom you didn't have a good time or something." Simon smiled at her.
"Ok!" Dolly jumped out of the car to go inside. Taking in the rare moment, she bought two fountain pops. Simon finished up with getting gas to hurry back home, otherwise Chloe might worry.
As he pulled into their driveway, he eyed the new car taking his spot.
"Isn't that aunt Krystal's car?!" Dolly smiled wide, getting out of the car once Simon parked behind. He wore a nasty glare as he trailed behind Dolly up the the door.
"Simon! Your back!" A dreadful, ear piercing sound spoke as Simon walked in his home. His step sister, Krystal, sat at the table with Chloe.
"Oh wow, how far along are you now?" Dolly asked, slowly walked up to Krystal. Now 7 months pregnant, Krystal resemble nothing like Simon. She had always kept her long blonde hair in a braid of some sort, bringing out her blue eyes.
"About there now. Wanna see if you can feel a kick?" Krystal pushed herself to stand up, showing she was tall enough to reach Simon's chin, like Chloe.
"Doesn't it feel, weird?" Dolly asked, cautiously reaching her hand out. Simon quickly snatched her arm, pulling her away.
"Why are you here?" He glared. Chloe sighed as she stood up, walking over to Dolly.
"Come on," Chloe whispered to Dolly, pushing her towards the stairs.
"Good seeing you!" Dolly yelled over her shoulder. Krystal smiled, giving her a short wave before facing Simon.
"Would you relax? I like seeing my niece you know. And you as well." She told. Simon scoffed, turning his back to her as he marched away.
"Chloe said Dolly missed me! Just let me spend some time with her?" Krystal followed Simon to the kitchen. He stopped at the knife block, very tempted to stab her.
"Fine." He growled. Krystal blinked at him, backing away with a nod,
"Was that so hard? I don't get why you act like that with me."
"Just get out of my face." Simon fumed as he stomped past her. Krystal rolled her eyes, turning around and to the stairs. She carefully penguin walked up the stairs to where she remembered Dolly's room.
"Hello? Doll?" Krystal pushed the door open, seeing Chloe and Dolly sitting on the bed.
"Before I forget, I've got a little gift for you." Krystal beamed as she dug a small present box from her shoulder bag. Chloe crossed her arms, watching Dolly accept the gift and open it.
"No way! You actually got it??" Dolly exclaimed, lifting up a small rectangle box.
"What is it?" Chloe had a judge like stare as Dolly showed her what looked to be a paint set.
"It's a toxic free paint stuff, to paint Tio's shell!" Dolly presented her how marvelous she thought it was.
"It's easily washable but it'll stay on." Krystal informed.
"Thank you so much!" Dolly wrapped her arms around her as safely as she could before backing away to Tio's habitat.
"Well, that's very nice of you." Chloe faked smiled as she stood up, her arms still crossed.
"If you'll excuse us, we have to be out of town soon." Chloe told. Krystal nodded, turning to leave.
"Is it alright if I come by tomorrow? I can pick Dolly up from school and we can hang out here for a bit." Krystal gently asked, fearing the reaction she'll get.
"We can pick her up, but I suppose you two could hang out a bit here while we're at work." Chloe answered. Krystal sighed in relief, making her way to the door.
"I'll see you guys later!" She announced as she left.
"Ugh, why are you letting her come by tomorrow. We're always done with work by 3." Simon nagged.
"I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to go pick up supplies. Maybe even get Dolly something." She explained. Simon brows rose, it would be a perfect time to go shopping.
"Ok, but I think we should be back before 6." Simon suggested. Chloe nodded, rubbing his shoulder before stepping away. Simon sighed, glancing at the basement door, somewhat wishing he could take his anger out on the doll.
