Vikk's P.O.V.
I sat up, gasping in both pain in confusion while I swung my head around the new world I was in. I had no idea where I was and absolutely no idea what was going on but all I knew was someone, someone who was supposedly one of my friends, had pushed me through a portal which lead to god knows where, apparently here.
The boys and I, as in the other members of the Pack, had been out exploring in the woods and I hadn't been paying attention like normal because I was in a cloud of depression. Frankly I didn't like being around them because they were mean and spiteful towards me, teasing me, forcing me to do things that I didn't want to and pushing me around.
And now I was in another world with no idea what was going on.
"Vikk? Vikk!?" Someone called and I perked up, recognising the voice.
"Mitch!? Mitch!" I yelled, turning towards the source of the voice. It came from a couple of hundred metres away and I could hear several sets of footsteps too, probably the rest of the Pack. Maybe the portal had only teleported me?
I crashed towards the source of the footsteps and heard them running towards me too but the second I rounded a tree I knew something was wrong. They weren't the people I knew.
For a few moments we had a staring match, the 5 of them standing opposite me, and I took them in. Preston in my world was ice, but now he was fire, Lachlan used to have black hair and a blue hoodie and now he was blonde and wearing red, Rob was blonde with an orange hoodie and in this world he had brown hair and a blue hoodie. Rob and Lachlan looked the complete opposite of each other. Mitch and Jerome seemed to have changed the most, old Mitch had dyed purple hair and a blue-white checkered shirt and this new one had normal hazel hair and a red and black checkered hoodie and Jerome... he wasn't a wolf anymore.
I was completely floored, this wasn't right. All of them looked so different from what I knew and they were looking at me just as stunned, none of us with any idea what was going on.
"I-I what?" The new Rob stuttered, taking a step closer to me. "You're Vikk... but you're not Vikk."
"I know you..." I mumbled, staring. "But you aren't my friends..."
"Wait... you know us!?" Jerome demanded, standing up stronger and making me scramble backwards because he was scary.
"Yeah. Jerome, Mitch, Rob, Preston and Lachlan." I said, pointing to each of them in turn. "You... you look like my friends but you... you aren't the same people."
My head was spinning, I was dizzy, my mouth dry and finally, feeling faint, I stumbled backwards and fell onto my butt. I was terrified, no idea what was going on surrounded by people I knew but didn't know in a strange world that I was completely new in.
My eyes flickered closed, and I was out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"What the fuck are we supposed to do?" Someone hissed, stomping their foot. "He's Vikk but he's not Vikk, our Vikk has disappeared and although I don't know if any of us actually care cause he's a bitch but what the fuck happened? He just fucking vanished!"
The person was ranting and I groaned, raising my arms to cover my ears. My head was pounding.
"Oh! Hey, you're awake!" The voice had a thick accent, not the same as the ranting voice, and I immediately recognised it as Lachlan's. I blinked, groaning at the bright light.
It took a few minutes before I was finally able to sit up, struggling as I did so. Lachlan was sitting beside me the whole time and had his hand a couple of inches behind me in case I fell backwards, but making sure to not touch me at all.
"Are you alright?" He asked, and I nodded. "Can you... explain what happened? The others are all here now."
Sure enough, Jerome was sitting down opposite me and the three others were all standing in the doorway. I took in a deep breath, but finally nodded.
"I- this... world.... is like my own, but not really. Everything sort of looks the same, but you guys are all... really different. I mean you have the same faces and everything but you're all... different. Mean. I didn't like you... or other yous." Preston nodded. "We were out and someone pushed me into a portal and when I heard Mitch I thought I had just been teleported but... apparently not." Rob spoke.
"Okay so Mitch yelling was right after Vikk... vanished? We were all out and the next second he was gone so Mitch started yelling for him and then we found you. Our Vikk is like you but... not really. He was really tall, like Lachlan's height with white hair and a red shirt. He was pretty mean too."
I rubbed my head, trying to comprehend exactly what was going on.
"So we were... swapped?" I said, bewildered. "He's in my world now?"
"I guess?" Preston said, looking just as confused as I felt.
"But... that mean I won't be able to get back...?" For a second I felt sad, but I had no idea why I was sad.
"Do you want to go back though?" Mitch said, speaking for the first time since I had heard him yelling for me. "I thought you said we were mean in the other world. And quite frankly, I don't think we want the old Vikk back. He was a nasty piece of work."
I thought for a second about this old Vikk who they hated so much. He sounded like the other members of the Pack in the old world that for a second I wondered...
"Maybe... maybe we were swapped? Maybe I was meant to be here to begin with?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Lachlan shouted with laughter, catching up to Mitch from a few metres away after the older boy had tried to push him over. I watched from where I was sitting on my rock, Rob beside me, swinging his legs childishly with a piece of grass sitting in his mouth.
Preston and Jerome were both sprawled on the grass and we were all basking in the sun, laughing and joking together. I had to say that although I wasn't totally used to the dynamics of the group, the friendship that had eventually lead to more, I loved being around them. They were so kind to me, always treated me with respect and always cared about my feelings, something the old versions of them never did.
Rob leaned his head onto my shoulder and I smiled, relaxing back into him. He was always so sweet and he loved physical contact, constantly initiating hugs or tackling me from behind or maybe pressing a loving kiss to my cheek when I wasn't expecting it.
I glanced at the two boys on the ground, Jerome was playing with something he had found on the ground and Preston was throwing a stone up in the air repeatedly. The former was a little quiet but he was just as, if not more, affectionate than Rob, especially with Mitch, and the latter was like an energetic toddler a lot of the time, also affectionate but more likely to tackle you to the ground and jump on you than try and hug you.
I knew looked over at the two still running around, Lachlan chasing after Mitch and clearly getting a lot further on his longer legs. They were both shrieking with laughter and I smiled. Mitch was the life and soul of the group, always full of laughter and ready to cheer everyone up, a constant smile on his face. Lachlan might have been the least physically affectionate of the group but he was the one who was always there for me emotionally, ready to let me talk. I liked him quite a lot and any hug or kiss I received from him was special.
I also found that I barely thought about the old world anymore with the alternate versions of the boys, who I didn't consider as friends anymore. I had hated them and they hated me in return, so I often found that I was glad one of them pushed me through that portal. I wondered how they were dealing with the other Vikk.
Rob sighed happily, basking in the sunlight. He pressed a kiss to the shell of my ear, smiling.
"Love you Vikky." He whispered. "So much."
I simply gave him a smile back.
