Chpt 18: Arthur and His Alpha Begin to Acknowledge Their Feelings Pt 1

Okay, I need your opinions/help making a decision on something for this book. The next 2 or 3 chapters (after the part 2 following this one) are completely unnecessary to the story and I need to know if you want me to include them or not. It essentially boils down to (and will likely be called) bath fluff that devolves/develops into smut, so tell me what you want. Your options are:

-A chapter on neither the bath fluff nor the smut

-A chapter on neither with them both being chapters in an outtakes book that I'll be publishing later on, either on Wattpad or on Archive of Our Own (Ao3)

-Just a chapter of bath fluff (with the smut being a chapter in the outtakes)

-Both the bath fluff and the smut as main chapters in this book

Arthur completely melted in Alfred's arms. "Okay alpha, anything you say." He purred and nuzzled up into his neck. "I guess I would look good like that, soft and delicate, wrapped up in my alpha's arms... Now I've just got to find my way to an alpha who holds me as sweetly and protectively as you."

Alfred nodded, ignoring the pain in his chest at the idea of another alpha holding Arthur.

Arthur, being in observant in nature, nuzzled Alfred, "What is it, love? Did I say something negative and upset you again?" He whispered almost hopefully.

Alfred shook his head and nuzzled Arthur sweetly, "Just feeling a bit possessive. It's probably due to your preheat is all."

The sales rep went around suggesting other lingerie outfits, some of which they choose to have Arthur try on and others they passed up.

Arthur felt his heart speed up a bit before immediately falling at the way Alfred seemed to brush it off as being due to alpha and omega nature. "Right, of course. My pill and patches must not be working then, I'll take the other half with lunch." He said softly so as not to disrupt their shopping.

Alfred stopped Arthur at that and pulled him closer as he nuzzled the omega from behind. "I'm sorry. I didn't know that would hurt you so much. You're patches and pills are working perfectly fine. I'm just making excuses for myself because I know I shouldn't be getting possessive over the idea of you with another alpha. I have no claim to you past today and it hurts to acknowledge that. Please don't be upset." Alfred ranted as he buried his head into the crook of Arthur's neck.

Arthur held Alfred tightly, "Hush love. Just take a moment and relax, let me hold you. I know you didn't mean it and I forgive you, okay? Just take a deep breath alpha. It's okay to be jealous, you can have as much a claim on my life as you like, you know where I work and where I live and I told you I'd schedule another date with you after my heat. You can take all the time in the world to figure it out, okay? You've got the same rights to happiness as anyone else. I'm not upset and I won't be upset as long as my charming alpha keeps that smile and looks at me with those sweet baby blue eyes. Everything will work itself out for the best no matter what," Arthur whispered and rubbed his back gently. "I'm your little omega. You've shown me the best time I've ever had and you've actually made me really happy, Alfred."

Alfred nodded as he hugged Arthur properly. He felt himself tear up at Arthur's sweet words, his heart full of so much love for the omega though his brain reasoned it was just infatuation and his mouth couldn't say the words. "Thank you for being so understanding, Arthur."

The sales rep went on without them, getting the feeling something personal was going on. She'd already gotten a general idea of their tastes in lingerie so she decided to just come back when she had a couple more choices.

Arthur wiped Alfred's eyes gently under his glasses. "I'd give the world for my alpha." He said softly before kissing him slowly as he ran his fingers through Alfred's hair.

Alfred smiled at that, letting himself melt into the kiss and be taken care of, if only for a moment.

After Arthur tried on the outfits and picked out some he liked, even keeping some a secret from Alfred for his to decide between to wear that night, Alfred paid and the two grabbed lunch from the food court. They both got panda express before going out to eat in the car in peace.

The two then finished their food and Alfred drove them back to the penthouse, Arthur's suppressants wearing off as they did. "Hey Arthur, do you mind if I make a request of you?" Alfred asked a bit formally once they were back in the penthouse.

Arthur looked puzzled at Alfred's formalities from his spot on the couch, snuggled up with a pillow. "Of course Alfred, what is it? What's gotten you to address something so proper?" He asked holding his arm out to invite the alpha to sit with him.

Alfred locked the elevator from this floor with the passcode before knocking off his shoes and joining Arthur on the couch. Alfred cuddled Arthur up in his arms. "While you're still coherent I wanted to ask you, and I know this is a big deal, but I wanted to know if you'd let me spend your heat with you."
