Koneko gently rubbed the head of the semi-large dark brown furred bobcat that was sprawled across her chest and stomach.
The content purrs the cat was emitting made Koneko want to fall asleep, but she had to finish unpacking. Moving to a new house was tiring.
She and her mother just moved to the Mustafu Prefecture. It was a large, tough move from France to Japan, but her mother had a nice job offer out here.
And U.A. was here.
Yuuei was number one of the best schools in Japan, but its Hero Course is what made it famous. They produced the some of the best heroes the world has ever seen.
So the move was beneficial to both of them.
Koneko liked the house a lot. It wasn't too big which was perfect. They did have 3 extra rooms and Koneko had her own bathroom in her room. They had a large kitchen and a comfy living room.
Their backyard was spacious and even had a small pond. The yard ended when the forest began, and from there on, it was just trees.
Koneko could see herself sleeping out there. A lot.
"Chaton, pourriez-vous s'il vous plaît aller au magasin et obtenir des ampoules? (1)" She heard her mother shout from the kitchen.
Koneko sighed but got up as asked. The dark brown bobcat, Blink, did not looked pleased and let out a disgruntled sound to prove it.
"I'm sorry Blink. I'll be back quickly. Maybe you could chill with Owl?" She suggested, gesturing to her other bobcat, who was spread out on her pale blue beanbag chair.
At the mention of its name, the silver haired animal perked up its head for a moment before going back to sleep. Blink looked at her as if to say "See what you leave me with?" and Koneko couldn't help laughing. She slipped on her black Nike slides and grabbed a light black jacket.
"Où est l'argent, maman? (2)" Koneko called back, grabbing her keys. She only had two keys on the chain for now, but she had many keychains.
Slipping downstairs, she went to the kitchen where she heard all the commotion. There were boxes all over the place and a lot of them were bust open. She saw the top of her mother's curly silver hair from the other side of the counter she leaned on.
"The money, mom?" She repeated in Japanese.
"Here." Her mother replied, placing a 20 only the counter without looking.
"Just light bulbs?" She asked, pocketing the money.
"Get me some snack. You could get something too, just remember that I'm ordering food later!" She called out as Koneko started walking away.
"Ouais. (3)" With that, Koneko left the house. Their house was the last house on that block, and it was kind of secluded from the others, anyone could walk up to it.
She had no clue where the stores were. She was asleep most of the car ride and didn't really have any knowledge of the layout in Mustafu at all. Looks like she'd have to use her phone.
She found that the nearest supermarket was 10 minutes away, which wasn't bad at all. She took in the area as she walked, taking note of the apartment building that was down the street. It was the only building on the block, which was a little unusual, but nothing too strange.
Walking into the supermarket, she eyed the signs hanging from the top of each aisle before she found what she was looking for. She found that the light bulbs were way at the top, and Koneko was not nearly tall enough to reach them.
