I kinda liked Trent in TDI, but what the fuck is up with him in Action? I knew he went crazy, but omg! The nine thing, the self harm (hitting/hurting himself), throwing challenges, making it look like he's obsessed with Gwen, etc. It's toxic.
But...here's a theory. Does Gwen mess guys up? I'm not saying this because of my disdain for her, but let's look at the facts:
Trent was good in Island. When he just liked Gwen.
Duncan was good in Island and Action. When he was with(out) Courtney and kinda liked Gwen. He was even okay in World Tour.
Trent got better in World Tour (Aftermath).
Duncan got fucked up in All Stars.
Maybe it's a cliché, but Gwen is the "weird goth girl" and it's possible that her persona was too much for them to handle.
I don't know...just throwing out a theory.
