Gon's P.O.V

The sound of sheets rustling woke me up. I glanced over to where Killua slept. A spot of damp sheet surrounded his head on his pillow. Late night shower, I suppose.

Oh my gosh, a late night shower. How dare he?

The only reason I had turned over to look at Killua was just a simple check-up. Make sure he was okay. To my satisfaction he was fine.

And now I didn't have much to do. Just the peaceful sound of the streams surrounding the house and the occassional chirp of a bird.

I glanced over at my clock. 3:56 AM. What the hell? I'm Gon. And I do not get up at four in the morning. However, I'm Gon, and once I get up, I can't go back to sleep...

I decided to get up and clean, because why not? It wouldn't wake anyone up since the kitchen was in the front of the house and all the rooms were in the back. Plus there's a sliding door that separates the rooms from the main house.

I rose out of bed with the decision that I would stay in my night wear so the sound of drawers squeaking wouldn't wake up the whole damn house. I tiptoed around Killua and out of the room. Making it to the sliding door before a pair of wide eyes stared back at me. I walked in, staring at the face so my eyes could adjust. "Aunt Mito?" I asked.

"Gon... What are you doing up this early?" She asked. Raising her hand to her mouth at the sound of a yawn.

"I couldn't sleep anymore! I feel fully rested- I'm pretty sure I could run a marathon right now," I exclaimed while running in place.

Aunt Mito started laughing. "And just what were you going to do?" She questioned, throwing her hands on her hips.

"I was just going to clean. I had tried falling back asleep... But I couldn't." I mumbled, rubbing the back of my neck.

Mito shook her head and sighed. "I was worried about you guys while you were gone, so I started cleaning. Like I do when I'm nervous. While I was wiping the counters, Grandma noticed I looked drowsy, so she made me go to bed pretty early. You could try to clean it some more... But I doubt you could clean my clean," She declared, wearing a smirk on her face.

Cleaning is off the list. Next thing I would normally do? Fish. Early fishing is the perfect time to go fishing, fish always bite around morning time. "Aunt Mito, do you want to go fishing with me?" I asked her.

She glanced over her back, "Let me check the time," Then turned back to me, "Yeah, I guess I'll go fishing with you. I have nothing better to do." She smiled.

"I'll go get my fishing pole!" I exclaimed, running to my room, but tiptoeing when I got there so I wouldn't disturb Killua. Grabbed my boots, fishing pole, and bounced the fuck outta' there.

I strolled back into the kitchen. Mito wasn't there yet. Killua would probably wonder where everyone was... I brought out a pen and paper from one of the drawers and wrote: Mito and I went to the pond to go fishing. You can come if you want to. -Gon.

I placed it on the kitchen table, waiting for Mito. After waiting for a few minutes, Aunt Mito came out dressed in her usual clothing, asking if I was ready. I nodded my head yes, and that was the cue for us to go.

Soon enough, we had arrived at the pond. Something popped into my head. Killua. It was all Killua. I felt heat rise to my cheeks. It was short-lived though. The thought of telling Mito how I felt about my friend interrupted that, of course. Deep down, it was a known fact that I had to tell her. I just had to find the right time.

I brought out my fishing pole and baited it, casting it out into the somewhat stagnant pond. Mito sat right beside me. During that short cast, I had came to the conclusion that because of the increase in sunlight due to summer, the algae was growing quicker.

It was quiet, calm. Surrounded by peace. Now would certainly be just the perfect time to tell her. And so I did. "Hey. Aunt Mito, there's this person that I really like, but I'm not sure how to tell them. Have any advice?" I asked while gripping on my fishing pole tighter. I was nervous. Who wouldn't be?

The thought that Aunt Mito's response would calm me down kept me going though.

She hummed. "Well... I would ask them if you could talk to them in private, since it's a personal subject. And, well, just be you. I'm sure that you won't have any trouble with that." She explained. Ending her debut with a smile.

It wasn't a happy smile though. It was a warm, motherly smile that mother's have when they notice their child's progress. "Thanks, Aunt Mito," I said while hugging her tightly.

She returned an even stronger hug, saying, "You're growing up so fast. I hope you become a wonderful adult, I love you so, so much, Gon!"

"I love you too, Aunt Mito," I mumbled, "And... I hope you like Killua, because I know I do," I whispered, the words only meant for her ears.
