Third Person P.O.V

Two years had passed since we last saw our young protagonists who were 18 at the time. Now it's May 5th, Gon's fated 20th birthday. Mito had invited Gon back to her house as they were previously in York New, living it up.

They stood around Mito's island in her kitchen. Abe, Alluka, Killua, and Mito, were singing the famous song for birthday's. After the song Gon thought of a wish, and blew out the flames of all 20 candles. Everyone around the friendly Gon clapped and Gon just beamed at him.

We all knew the one thing that was on his mind. The wish that he made also had ties with this. Mito handed Gon a cake knife and Gon gladly accepted the offer, cutting the first cut into his cake. Mito then followed, cutting perfect squares of cake.

Killua handed Mito the fragile paper plates and she put cake on each one, offering them to everyone present at Gon's rather small party. Once Gon got his piece of the cake he demolished it, leaving a spotless plate in the dust.

Everything done at this time was just what most people would do during a birthday party. Opening gifts, eating cake, singing happy birthday, and being surrounded by people you love and people who care about you.

After all the 'partying' was done Gon and Killua split up from the group, heading to their favorite hiding place on Whale Island.

...

"Hey! You're 20 now, how's it feel? Y'know, being out of your teen years." Killua sheepishly commented, trying his hardest to break the awkward silence between them, or what Killua perceived as awkward.

"It feels the same. Everything feels the same. Actually, I still feel as if I'm twelve. Nothing has changed. I still love you the same. Wait, maybe something HAS changed." Gon started a conversation between Killua and him that would forever change their relationship and who they are.

"What do you think has changed? Ehh, I don't really see a difference. Only small changes. Like, you're taller than me now and I'm not as macho as I saw myself in the future." Killua puffed out his cheeks like the little 19 year old he was and Gon just smiled.

"Well... Do you still love me the same?" Gon hesitated a bit, trying to recall if Killua said to never talk about the subject that was on his mind again. Gon had concluded in his head that Killua never banished the idea.

"Mmm. I don't get what you're saying. Of course I still love you the same. Sexy." Killua's unheard attempts to appease and endear Gon were not working, as he was in a very awkward position mentally right now.

"But like, has your love grown perhaps. Or has it shrunk? Things like that." Gon's brain was imploding with ideas on how to casually ask Killua this question he was just itching oh-so-bad to ask.

"My love for you grows everyday, Gon. I don't understand what you're getting at." Killua's confused tone was pissing Gon off every second. Gon was indeed about to explode from the pressure of saying the wrong thing.

"Okay, okay. I'm cool. I'm cool. Since I have to be so straight forward right now I'll just come out and say it."

Gon inched closer to Killua and Killua's mind was racing. All that Killua had on his mind currently was, 'Does Gon still love me?', 'Is he breaking up with me?', 'Is he going to ask me to marry him?', 'Will Alluka be hurt if Gon breaks up with me, she does like him?', 'How will I respond?', 'It hurts, it really does.'.

Soon after Killua's wave of excitement passed he felt sad. He had no idea what Gon was thinking and whatever it was, Killua knew that he wouldn't be able told take it any longer. Killua felt a salty, warm tear fall out of his left eye first, slowly sliding down his cheek and onto his neck. Many followed after that single tear.

Inside Killua was hysterical but his exterior looked like a calm and collected person crying. Gon started to tear up too. Seeing Killua in such a state shattered his usual happy and loving heart.

Both of them were silent, tears streaming down their face. Gon had sensed Killua's need for comfort so he had wrapped his muscular arms around Killua's fit torso. Feeling this sense of nostalgia made Killua bawl. His tiny sobs were very apparent to Gon.

Gon leaned his head into the crater in Killua's neck resulting in getting that part of Killua's shirt damp. Killua, on the other hand, was frozen stiff. His body was limp. There was nothing wromg with Killua, this just happens to be how he relieves himself of pressure.

Killua let his head fall on top of Gon's. His energy flowing around Gon calmed Gon down. Gon could tell that Killua had been holding in a ton of unexplainable feelings. But the ones that were explainable and obvious were regret and anger. Gon hadn't any clue why Killua felt regret but he just sailed on, knowing Killua wasn't an obvious person.

Killua stopped his stream of tears for the sake of Gon and turned his sad feeling into ones of happiness. A soft smile crept onto his face and he steadied out his shaky breaths. Breaking the silence he sighed and chirped, "Whew! I needed that! I feel great! You okay Gon? Don't tell me you're still sad!"

Gon could hear Killua's inner demons and struggles, deciding to play along with the act for the sake of Killua's sanity. "I'm not crying, I bet you were though!" Gon jammed his finger into Killua's personal space and Killua just laughed.

"What percent are you at?" Gon stopped messing with Killua to ask this urgent question.

"Don't tell me that's all you wanted to ask!" Killua shouted and Gon scratched his cheek.

"That was the only thing I intended on asking..."

"Ughh. I'm such an idiot. I should've known you'd be drop that," Killua facepalmed himself and giggled like a fat kid in a candy store.

"I'd say I'm at about 101%..." Killua looked into Gon's eyes and gave him a motherly like smile.

"R-really?" Gon studdered, inching closer to Killua.

"I wouldn't have said it if it was a fib." The calm Killua stated.

Gon leaned in a grabbed Killua's lips with his own, sinking into the kiss, feeling Killua's energy, loving everything.

Killua did the same, he knew that this was the last time they'd feel this way and Gon acknowledged that.
