Till death do us part! As a kid, those words were something I was going to say and mean to my husband. Growing up into a young woman, I never thought I'd see the day. Wrap in Ron's life was the only thing I had before falling out in someone's yard. If I never escaped, I wouldn't have meet Sebastian. These words, that I'm going to say today, would've have existed without him. Lucky much?
Waking up to the sunlight beaming in my face was the last thing I wanted. Last night was a blur, and I hated this feeling. Never am I ever going to a party with those girls. Also, I'm never ever drinking again. I should've known I was going to be a lightweight, but I was having too much fun to stop. Mrs. Lapp came in to see if I was awake for the big day.
"A pill and water for the tragic hangover," she said. I was a little embarrassed, but we laughed as she handed me the pill and glass of water. "I can't believe I let go like that. This is a lesson learned," I replied. She smiled and put her hand on my forehead. Mrs. Lapp was a woman I could look up to and be as great or even better as her. She always had an amazing heart, and I want that too.
"I never thought I'd see Sebastian this happy, darling. He was always closed off and taking care of Lacey Mae. Being in the military was all he put his heart into until you came along. The first time you danced with him, I could tell the chemistry between the two of you. He, even, came to me that night and told me that you felt like the one. Every night he'd always talk about the mystery girl with a past, but he always seen the good things. No matter what you're past was, he would always overlook it and talk about the goods. You see, Myra, you got a good man. Keep him on his toes," she said," but remember you both can get through anything together. Lacey Mae and the entire family loves you. Hell, even our friends love you. You are full of light, and I can't wait to see you both tie the knot to many more better things to come in the future. Have some babies and raise them up to be as humble as you. Both of you got this, love."
As she spoke, tears flowed down my face. This speech was clearly uplifting and was goin to get me through life. I'm the future Mrs. Lapp! I couldn't wait to be just as strong for him as he is for me.
As I was getting my makeup done and getting dressed, Mae came in. "Where am I going? I thought I was a flower girl, but those girls are in pairs," she said, upset-like. I kneeled down to her and smiled," The reason why you're not a flower girl is because you're above that to me. You're not my flower girl. I want you to walk side-by-side with me down the isle, love." She began to jump up n down in excitement. I knew this would make her happy.
The wedding started, and we were in line behind the flower girls. A tap was applied to be shoulder. I turned to greet Mr. and Mrs. Lapp. "Since you don't have a father or mother in this moment, we were hoping to walk you down the isle with Lacey Mae. Is that okay with you," he asked? I didn't want to cry to ruin my makeup, but the flow of tears couldn't help but come out. I nodded in agreement, and they took their places. I was the middle woman in white, Mr. Lapp the left side man in black, Mrs. Lapp the right side woman in royal blue, and Mae the front lady in gold.
Walking down the isle, I couldn't stop my tears as I was staring at the most amazing man awaiting at the alter. If he didn't make me the happiest man, I don't know who would've. Why am I so lucky? As we approached him, they gave my hand to Sebastian. Mae stayed until Sebastian kneeled to kiss her cheek. "Thank you, Lacey Mae," he told her. She twirled, and I giggled. Everything wouldn't be as is if it wasn't for her.
"You may be seated," said Pastor. He began the introduction of the wedding. I couldn't help but stare at the man before me. He was deliciously handsome. Pastor said," Sebastian and Myra, it's time for your vows." I was nervous to say my vows, but since I'm here with the love of my life, it was calmed to a minimum. Sebastian started first with his vows.
"Myra Crum, since you came into my life, you have been a ball of fury and sunshine. You almost knocked out my father for sneaking up on you, and you have made us smile through everyday life," he said as the everyone laughed. "There's nun I would change in my life. I knew thought I'd love anyone, but since I met you, you have made that impossible. You made the ride hard in the beginning, but with good looks as these," he told me as I was giggling," you can't resist. I love you. You're my soulmate, and I'm blessed to call you mine." Our peers were in awe of Sebastian's vows as was I.
"Sebastian Lapp, since I ended up on the property, I've always felt like family. Our family is the most important thing to me. Before being together, I've seen Mr. and Mrs. Lapp as my mom and dad. Being with you, it has made it better because I have a mom and dad being just being apart of family but being married into the family. I'll always be there for you. I'll hold you done at all times. The joy in the family is Mae, and she's the reason for all this. I dedicate my life to you all. If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't be in this stable place I'm in now," I said as I began to break down. Sebastian held me in his arms as I went to my knees, and the audience felt my pain. I got up to finish my vows," You mean everything to me. I wouldn't want to change you for anything in the world. The way you took a kid and raised her as your own says a lot. I wish I could've met your sister because she's the one that gave us the ball of sunshine. Marrying you today will always be the highlight of my life. No matter what, I'm the future and only Mrs. Lapp coming through in the making." The audience laughed as they stared at the original Mrs. Lapp. She blew me a kiss, and I winked at her.
Sebastian and I are officially married, and it's time for the after party. As tradition, the bride and groom takes the first dance, and others follow in afterwards. Holding MY MAN close in arms was the B E S T feeling ever! I'm in love with my best friend. How did I get so lucky? This is my family now! I don't want to leave them. I'd never e s c a p e this happy place I call home and family!!
