Be forewarned there are probably quite a few grammatical errors; I wrote this pretty fast.

After I got back to Newt, I laid down in the grass, contemplating all I had just learned. It was a lot to take in. It wasn't long before Newt was needed somewhere else, so I was all alone. Not that I minded. It was actually nice to have a little time to my own. Especially since that didn't seem like a common thing here.

I assume after a few minutes I fell asleep and I woke up to a tapping on my shoulder.

"Lyza. Lyzaaa. Wake up!" I heard Newt plead. I leaned forwards and gave him a what-the-shuck-were-you-thinking-by-waking-me-up look. Im pretty sure I used that word right.

"The Runners are back, Lyza. I want you to come with me to see them", Newt said, giving me a look that practically screamed you can't say no to this face. And I couldn't. So I got up and we walked towards the South Walls. Standing there were six or seven boys all chugging water as if they hadn't drank for weeks. Newt pulled me over to a boy taller and more muscular than most others here. He was also of a different ethnicity, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I couldn't remember a single place before here and it's not like it matters.

"Minho! Meet Lyza, our new Glader!" Newt basically shouted, trembling with excitement.

"Holy klunk! We got a girl? What the shuck?" Minho exclaimed. So apparently my presence was odd.

"That's right. Bout bloody time something was new around here," concluded Newt.

I smiled. While I wasn't something these people were used to, at least someone was glad to have me.

Minho whipped his head up as if he forgot something, then he patted Newt on the back, said bye, and jogged off to a concrete room near the Homestead.

Newt didn't move for a moment, then turned to me.

"He's cool once you get to know him", he promised.

I nodded my head. "I'm sure"

He linked his arm around mine and pulled me over to the edge of the woods. He sat me down on top of an old, rotting log and turned away for a second. When he once again faced me, a quizzical expression sat upon his face.

"How are you so bloody calm?", he asked me genuinely confused. "We're dumped in this place with no memories with the exception of our name. We fend for ourselves and we try to.... I don't know.... Not die? There are bloody terrifying creatures just outside the walls and every day we seem to not get any closer to escaping. But you arrive, not saying a word and not freaking out like everyone else. How do you manage to do that?"

I glanced at the ground, then him, then back at the ground. Shaking my head, I took a deep breath. "I don't know. I really don't know. Don't give me that look; I have no idea. I got here and I was scared. I was terrified of everything and everyone. There were so many people around me, but I'd never felt so alone. And then I met you. Honestly you scared me at first. I thought when you were climbing that tree that you would try to kill me. But obviously I know better now. Every second I'm here I feel as if I have lost my mind. But I'd rather have lost my mind and have you then the other way around. Yes it has only been a day or two, but you're so kind and fun that it's almost magnetizing. Like I'm drawn to you. And every time I feel like there's a panic attack coming on or something of that sort, you make it a little bit more okay.

I smiled at him, stood up and wrapped my arms around his neck. I placed my head on his shoulder and just sat there, as if the world didn't want me to let go.
