"Did you do it?"

"Yes."

"And no one found out?"

"Yes, he didn't suspect a thing."

"I guess you were right about your plan."

"Of course. I would never do anything unless I'm sure it will work."

"Good. I just never thought you were the type of person that would be able to lie and trick someone, especially-"

"Sir, I think we should hang up now. Long calls are always an unnecessary risk, don't you think?"

"Haha, of course they are. Goodbye for now, Enigma."

It took Kihyun 3 minutes to adjust to the darkness. He rubbed his eyes lazily, confused as he tried to pinpoint the reason he woke up, and surprised that he woke up in the first place. He almost never woke up in the middle of the night, something he was proud of, being a full-grown man with responsibilities and stress constantly on his shoulders. Yet now he was, squinting at the blinking numbers on his digital clock, almost wincing as he took in the numbers: 2:46 am.

He sighed heavily and pulled up his covers until his whole body was hidden from sight, trying not to listen to the small voice in his head. It was that voice which had told him exactly why he had woken up, and despite agreeing with it, he tried desperately to convince himself that he could easily go back to sleep without complying with the whispers.

After countless changes in body positions, Kihyun finally gave up. He begrudgingly reached over and picked up his phone, sitting up in the process.

Blinking repeatedly at the blinding light of his phone screen, he scrolled through his contacts until his finger was hovering above My Favourite Bear Shownu ❤. Kihyun took a deep breath and was about to touch the screen when he saw the contact below it: My Favourite Bunny Wonho ❤. He clicked on it instantly, completely forgetting about Jooheon's words last night.

It turned out that Wonho was pulling an all-nighter finishing his latest song. He even offered to visit Kihyun, which Kihyun kindly rejected.

"Are you sure?" Wonho asked.

"Yes, I am. I just needed to tell you what happened." Kihyun said, shaking his head even though Wonho wouldn't be able to see it.

"Well, I'm glad you decided to tell me after all. Are you sure you can deal with this though? Maybe telling the police..." Wonho trailed off, careful not to say anything that might upset his friend even more. "Sorry, I don't know what I'm saying. Of course you can't go to the police."

Before Wonho could continue, Kihyun said, "No, it's okay. I understand. But I'm fine. Really." Kihyun paused, wondering if what he said was true after all. Would anyone be ok in this situation? He shook it off quickly. "Thanks to you and Jooheon, I'm able to sleep well even after everything."

"Says the person who's talking to me 3 o'clock in the morning." Wonho teased. "Well, I better get back to work before I make you stay up the whole night."

Kihyun smiled. "Thank you again."

After hanging up, a smile found its way onto Kihyun's face and he was able to sleep soundly until it was time for work.

Kihyun woke up four hours later, at 7:30 am. It was 30 minutes later than the usual time, but he could easily bring breakfast to work to avoid being late.
