"Timeout, Davidson Day." The speakers over head announced.
"ROSE!" I looked up from my nails.
"GET OVER HERE!" Coach Grier yelled for me. I ran up to him and he put his hands on my shoulders.
"I need you to go talk some sense into those boys, make them get their shit together, and get their asses out on the field and play right. Okay?" I nodded. He wanted me, alone, to go into that huddle and tell them things that I don't even know of. This is going to be interesting. I ran up to their huddle and got in the middle of it. I got weird glances and team mates looking back and forth.
"Yes I'm a girl, no I don't play, and you all smell really bad. But, I'm not here to tell you how y'all need a shower, I'm here to say that you guys need to get your heads on right," I grabbed Hayes' helmet and shook it back and forth,"Coach Grier told me to talk to you guys, now when I'm in a volleyball game and my coach does that, that means she's given up on us, on me. Your own coach has given up on you because you guys aren't fixing your mistakes. That feels horrible right? He doesn't know what else to tell you guys because y'all aren't getting it. So, whatever it is, shake it off, get your shit straight,"a few of them laughed," and play your hearts out. Play every game like it's your last. Dday on three. 1,2,3"
"DDAY!" We all shouted. I ran back over to the coaches and stood next to them. Coach Grier patted my shoulder.
"Stay here."
"Yes sir."

It's tied 17-17. It's the last minute on the clock (A/N KEEP IN MIND I DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT FOOTBALL SO...) and the boys are about to get their plan to work. They started their play and they passed it to Hayes. In the last 5 seconds, Hayes scored. He scored and won for the whole team. Everyone jumped and yelled and laughed. Even the people in the stands were jumping.
"Well, I don't know what you did Rose, but it worked. Thank you."
"No problem coach." I patted his back.
I saw a sweaty player coming over my way as Mr. Grier left my side to go shake hands with the coach.
"Thank you, Rose."
"It's true. You do smell bad." We laughed.
"Do I smell bad enough for you to hug me."
"Not at all." He took off his gear and threw it next to him which revealed him in a tight work out shirt which made my knees go weak for half a second. I hugged him less tight than he hugged me, but it still counted.
"Just kiss her already, man!" One of his team mates yelled.
"Shut up!" He yelled back and his team laughed and mocked him. They soon came running in our direction and one of them pushed Hayes down causing me to fall under him. He held himself up with his arms above me as his wet hair stuck to his forehead. He looked at my lips, to my eyes, back to my lips. And I just stared into his big blue eyes.
His lips grazed mine as I felt the sweet smooth softness of them, he breathed his fresh minty gum breath into my lips. It felt to cold, that I almost got the chills. I only thought of him as a friend, but right now I couldn't help to feeling of how badly I wanted his kiss right now. Finally, his lips came in contact with mine. It tasted so sweet yet minty. Little did he know that it was my first kiss. Of course he's already had his. He's dated freshmen and 8th graders when he was in 7th grade. But I have never had my first kiss until now.
He slowly released his lips from mine and we just stared at each other for at least five minutes.
"I like you, Rose." I wanted to say,'I like you too Hayes.' But I don't know if I like Hayes, or just Hayes' kiss. I tried to talk but I throat wouldn't budge.
"Do you like me?" I choked up.
Do I like Hayes or Shawn?

DUN DUN DUNNNN. Ew that's such a weird thing to say as an 8th grader. I promise I'll never say that again. Okay so it's been like 2 months and I'm sorry. I've been really busy. But idk just not digging him.
