Homecoming
Hallie's POV
I was waiting for Peter to show up and my date to homecoming already got back together with his ex-girlfriend so they were dancing together leaving me all alone. MJ and Cindy didn't get any dates to homecoming and they didn't feel like going anyways so they were having a sleepover.
I was standing by myself by the drinks table staring at the front door, waiting for Peter to walk through those doors. After a little while, Liz walked in by herself and her friends surrounded her, I waited a few minutes and I was about to walk over to Liz and ask her if Peter was coming but the doors opened and Peter walked in slowly and I could tell something was wrong. I saw him walk up to Liz and he said a few things before sprinted away and disappearing into the school corridor. I stumbled after him in heels and I met Ned at the door, he was on his phone talking to someone and I raised an eyebrow.
"It's Peter," he whispered.
I nodded and followed Ned down the corridor taking my heels off so I could keep up with him, we ran into the computer lab and he immediately sat down and put the phone on speaker phone.
"Peter, what's going on?" I demanded over the phone.
"Hallie? What are you doing with Ned? I thought you were at the dance?" he asked.
"I saw you with Liz and you ran out so I went to follow you but I ran into Ned and now we're in the computer lab," I explained quickly, "Anyway, what are YOU doing?"
"Liz's dad is the Vulture guy I was talking about, he's going out of town for the week and I need to find out where he is going and potentially stop him before he leaves," he shouted back.
I heard the screeching of a car and Peter yell out.
"Are you driving!" shouted Ned.
"Yeah! I stole Flash's car!" Peter shouted back over the roar of beeping horns.
"Awesome!"
"Please be careful Peter," I warned him.
"Peter, I think I should call Tony Stark to help you or that other guy, Happy," suggested Ned.
"No! We can't get them involved, plus, Happy wouldn't care," he said, his voice trailed off at the end.
"Oh my gosh, it's moving day," I heard him say.
"Moving day? What does that mean?" I asked.
"Mr Stark is moving from Stark Tower to somewhere else! Adrian is going to take the stuff from the plane!" he shouted.
"We should definitely call someone else Peter," warned Ned.
"No! Mr Stark doesn't want anything to do with me, he won't answer and neither will Happy, I've got this under control Ned," argued Peter.
"Do you have your suit?" I asked.
"Yeah, it was on underneath my homecoming clothes," he panted.
"Turn right! The building is on your right!" shouted Ned.
"SHIT!"
I heard the sound of tyres screeching and metal crunching and glass shattering and my heart dropped.
"Peter!" I shouted.
There was silence from the other side of the phone and I heard someone groan.
"Peter, are you alright?" asked Ned worriedly.
"I kind of crashed," he replied, "I'm outside the building now so I need to hang up, I'll call you guys later,"
"Peter!" I called before he could hang up.
"Yeah?"
"I love you," I said with my voice shaking.
"I love you too," he replied.
He hung up and just as he did the door opened and a teacher walked in.
"What are you two doing here?" she demanded, "There's a dance going on,"
Peter's POV
I jumped and dodged over his flying wingsuit and surprisingly it missed me again and again.
"I'm sorry Peter," said Adrian.
"What are you talking about that thing hasn't even touched me yet!" I yelled.
"True," he said, "But, then again, I wasn't really trying to,"
Suddenly the wingsuit flew around me crashing into all the support beams and I looked up as the ceiling crashed down on me...
I opened my eyes and I tried to move but something was crushing me, it was hard to breathe and I started to panic, my breaths came ragged and uneven. I grabbed my mask pulling it off and trying to take more deep breaths but I was panicking too much.
"Okay ready," I muttered to myself.
I tried to push the building off me but it didn't move an inch. Tears poured down my face and my breathing was becoming more raspy and broken.
"Hello!" I screamed.
There was a deafening silence and I curled my hand into a fist to try and reduce the pain in my back and chest.
"Hello!" I screamed again crying, "Please, please, I down here, I down here I'm stuck! I can't move I'm stuck!"
I let my hand fall down and I focused on steadying my breathing. I looked down into the puddle and my mask was in it and I saw my reflection.
If you're nothing without this suit, then you shouldn't have it.
I remember Mr Stark's words and took a deep breath. Mr Stark didn't think I was good enough to become Spider-Man but New York needed me, I had to be there for New York and if I couldn't get out of this then maybe I didn't deserve to be Spider-Man.
"C' mon Peter, C 'mon Spider-Man," I muttered to myself, "Come on Spider-Man!"
The building started to rise and it was so painful, I grabbed it with my hands and with a final shove, it fell back and crashed to the ground. I collapsed onto a piece of debris and took a few deeps breaths the night air made me shiver but I saw something in the distance that made me forget everything, the plane that was supposed to take all of the Avenger's weapons and suits was taking off and Vulture was flying after it with his metal wings whirring dangerously. I swung between buildings and I let myself drop until I almost hit the ground but I shot webs up to the two buildings just in time and swung myself up high into the sky. I used my web and grabbed onto the bottom of the plane, I saw Vulture ripping apart the plane to try and get the boxes that were inside. I landed on the wing and my spider skills stopped me from getting whipped away with the wind.
"Hey!" I shouted.
Vulture looked at me with his fake glowing green eyes and he flew up and circled above me and tried to dig the sharp end of his wing into me but I dodged out of the way just in time but it stabbed into the wing, the wind pushed Vulture backwards and the wing sliced downwards, the Vulture managed to fly back up to the top of the plane and I held onto what was left of the wing as we went plummeting towards the ground. I shot my web and it landed on the other side of the wing and I desperately tried to turn to plane away from the buildings as I didn't want to hurt the people inside them.
"Turn, turn, turn!" I screamed.
The plane slowly turned but it crashed into the massive red amusement park sign and the plane spiralled uncontrollably towards the beach, it crashed to the ground and I tried desperately to hold on but I could already feel the warm sticky blood dripping down my face. The wing of the plane ripped off and I was thrown back into the metal, glass and fire of the rest of the plane...
