After You [Completed Story]

CHAPTER 1

Mama didn't let me leave alone . Nico was with me and it's okay. Nico is my butler slash best friend. Ever since I woke up, he was already there serving me. He's a little bit older but age doesn't matter on friendship, right?

Besides, Nico is half-Filipino. He's the one responsible for teaching me Tagalog since I can remember. I have no other friends than him and I have no choice.

"Val, nakahanda na ang pagkain."

VAL is my nickname. It's an abbreviation actually of my first name – Vega Alpha Lyrae Moretti.

Aside from that, I decided to start having a Tagalog conversation with Nico so that I'll get used to it when we reached the Philippines.

"Nakausap mo na ba ang private investigator?" tanong ko kay Nico habang inaayos ang mini dining table sa loob ng private plane.

"Oo, pupunta na lang daw siya sa bahay para kausapin tayo."

"I'm so happy right now, Nico. Paano pa kaya kung makita ko na ang tunay kong mga magulang?" I can't stop myself to smile. After the long years of waiting, I'm getting close to see them. Never ako nagtanim ng sama na loob. Sa una aaminin ko nagalit ako but I realized I should have known their explanation first.

"I can see it in your eyes, Val. But after this, you find your parents, and then what?"

I already have a plan for such things. I'll just ask them the questions that were bothering my mind and bond with them within few days and I'll go back to Italy with my Mama and Papa. Maybe I'll visit my real parents sometimes but I'll typically live in Italy with the people who never left me and fight with me during my battle for life.

"Val?"

"Sorry, I was just too excited for this."

"Maraming posibilidad sa mundo, Val. What if hindi ka nila tanggapin? What if patay na sila? You have to prepare yourself sa kahit anong malaman mo." I know Nico was just being concerned about me but..

"I'm a woman of positivity, Nico. You know me. Even in the end it wouldn't be the way I expect it to be, I'll stay hopeful at everything. I mean look at me, I am still alive!"

"That's why I can't leave you alone, Val. You're too positive that you're not ready for the worst."

I just deeply sighed. I don't want to argue with Nico. He'll always tell me the other side of life.

He got a point though but I did never got mad at him.

Syempre sa gwapo ba naman niya? Magagalit ka ? Yes, I like my butler since 18.

It was my debut when my supposed to be escort ditched me. I was about to cry but Nico saved my day. He was wearing in tux so I'd see him as my knight and shining armor. I didn't tell him of course. It's quite awkward. I'm 21 and he's 26. Our five-year gap says it all.

"Take a rest a now," he said.

"I'm not yet sleep nor tired," pagkontra ko.

"You're such a hard-headed lady," umiling ito.

"Hey! You're my butler, you obey me," I glared at him.

"Lady Lyrae, may I remind you that your Doctor says that you should sleep early. Your heart isn't stable yet."

I rolled my eyes. He's being bossy, AGAIN.

See? I have no choice? I forced myself to sleep but maybe Nico was right, my heart is really not yet that okay so I was able to easily sleep after I take my meds.
