*nicky's pov*

As light beamed through the dark curtains I groaned rolling over to try find Ashton for a cuddle but was greeted by cold empty sheets next to me causing me to sit up and sign checking my phone once again I had no one trying to contact me. I pulled Ashton shirt so it was on my shoulders properly and swung my legs off the bed and placed my feet on the rug below pushing myself up before placing my hair up into a messy bun, and made my way to the bedroom door limping slightly. As I opened the door I looked over the balcony seeing Ashton already in his black and red striped suit pacing up and down the hallway on the phone.

As I slowly made my way down the stairs I saw him glimpse up at me quickly before concentrating back onto the phone call making my heart break a little from not even reserving a smile from him. I stood at the bottom of the stairs admiring how he looked in his suit and how hot he looked when his hair was slicked back to look more professional. As he hung up on the phone call I began making my way to him placing my arms round his body craving a hug.

"Can we talk?" I asked before he took my arms off my body

"I've got to go to work baby" he said sternly as I looked at him confused

"It's 8am you don't start for another hour" I said back knowing his schedule inside out from being his assistant for almost 3 years

"I have a Skype call to someone in London in 20 minutes baby see you later" he said before kissing me on the forehead quickly and grabbed his phone out of his pocket and walked out of the house not looking back at me once and I felt my heart sink again and made my way into the kitchen smiling at Alex already working as I sat down at the island and played with the hem of Ashton's shirt.

"Have you two argued again?" He asked flipping pancakes

"No why?" I asked as he shrugged

"It's just you both seem very gloomy this morning and more distant than normal" he said as I sighed "plus this morning he asked me to make pancakes which is odd because he doesn't like them and he mentioned it was your favourite" he said as I smiled reassured that a tiny part of Ashton cared knowing that making my favourite food would encourage me to eat even though I was sad. "Oh he also left you this" Alex said passing me a note and the placed the pancakes in front of me as I smiled and open the note.

Baby I promise we can talk later on in the day, I just need space right now. I wish you'd told me yesterday it was your first because I hate the thought that I've hurt you and was careless. Have a good day baby I'll see you after work for a chat.

As I read the note I felt confusion over take me, He was concerned about me being hurt yet only wanted to talk later even though we were both available last night and this morning, and didn't once ask me how I was this morning.

"Alex" I said loudly as his head shot up from concentrating on cleaning the worktops "Do you recon the office is open?" I asked as he shrugged

"I presume so, but I wouldn't go in there miss smith, you'll just be asking for trouble" he warned as I shrugged hoping off the stool and smiling at Alex

"I just need the phone to call reception as I don't know the number" I said as he nodded and I left the kitchen and made my way down to the room of been told previously not to enter. As I opened the heavy door I admired his simplistic decor and sat down on his black chair running my fingers through the paperwork on the glass desk before picking up the phone instantly calling the reception number for the office which was written down in his phone book.

"Hello Irwin tech sales" a voice which was obviously kensie's said as I smiled knowing my best friend would go along with my plan

"Kensie it's nicky please don't hang up" I said quickly as I heard her sign "I know you probably still feel awkward from yesterday but please can we just forget it your friendship means too much to me and I need your help with something"

"Need my help with what? Nicky I'm not doing anything that will get me sacked, your sleeping with my boss remember" she said sternly

"Does Ashton have any meetings today?" I asked before I heard the sounds of her keyboard checking the online diary that they shared in the office to see Ashton's availability

"Nope none he's free all day. Why?" She said with concern in her voice

"Can you book me a meeting with him at 1? But not under my name, say I'm miss jones" I said as the keyboard began going again

"I hope I'm not booking you a slot for office sex" she said as I choked slightly before hearing her giggle on the other side of the phone

"I wish kensie, but there's a weird tension at the moment I just want to resolve somewhere that isn't the house" I said as I heard her humming in response

"Wear the blue dress" she said as I paused confused

"Blue dress?"

"Yes nick the blue dress from the club that he likes you in, you'll remind him of that night in the club" she said as I smiled

"Okay well I'll see you at 1" I said as I heard as door slam in the background making me jump slightly as the phone became muffled and I heard Ashton's voice faintly in the background

"I don't want to see you in this building ever again do you hear me" he snapped as I sat and listened before the door slammed again and everything became clearer again as the phone re connected to kensie's ear again

"I don't know what happened with you two after me and Grayson left yesterday, but he's been on edge all day, he just fired the girl who replaced you" she said as I sighed

"I'll get over there as quick as possible" I said before I heard a faint goodbye and the phone became silent as I placed it back in its slot and stood up from the desk trying my best to leave everything as it was so there was no evidence I'd been in here.

I quickly departed the office and practically ran up the stairs and straight into our bedroom and headed to the wardrobe slipping off the shirt and replacing the fabric with the blue dress and some black heels and made my way back to the bedroom taking my hair out of the messy bun letting my natural waves fall freely, not bothering with make up I grabbed my bag and phone and made my way down the stairs again picking up my car keys from the side and exited the house and slid into my car and made my way to the place I used to work.
