Eunhee
Last period; time for Key’s lessons! I started poking his cheeks to wake him up. “Good morning, baby. Rise and shine.” I said cheerfully flashing my eye smiles. He then opened his one eye and smiled. He held my hand and let his fingers intertwine with mine. I felt my face blush.
I took the chair near Key and sat down. I laid my head against his table as well. “It’s almost exams week, we need to study.” He then held my hand tighter and said “Let’s rest today, can’t we?” with a cute pout. “No.” I strictly said.
He rustled my hair and looked at me in the eyes. “Let’s play a game then?” he suggested. “What game?” I asked. “The 3-seconds truth game.” I got up from his table and got curious “Let’s do that. How do we play that?” I was enthusiastic about the game. “Ask something you want to know and I have to answer it within 3 seconds. The one who asked should answer the same question too.” He explained. I then nodded in agreement.
“Allergies?” he asked in surprise. “Uhm. Crab meat!” I pointed out.
“None.”
“Favorite color?”
“Nothing in particular.” Is he going to say NONE all the time?!
“Yellow!” I shouted.
“Favorite food?”
“Anything sweet.”
“Me too.”
“Birthday?” he wasn’t answering. I then started my countdown. “3..2..”
“Today.” He simply said.
I stood up from my seat and shouted “TODAY!?” he chuckled. “You didn’t answer in three seconds. I win!” he said while throwing his arms on air in a celebratory mood. I took my seat again and said “You fooled me.” Then pouted. “It really is my birthday today.” He crossed his arms.
I felt dumbfounded. I didn’t know my boyfriend’s birthday! “Well, don’t feel bad. Just take me out for today, that would do.” He rustled my hair like a little kid and smirked. “Hey! Who said I’m feeling bad! But since it’s your birthday today, I guess we’re going to cancel classes.”
“For real, right?” he smiled like a little kid who just received his candy. “Yup. For real.” This words made me happy as well. I’m dating him.. For real. I smiled over the words I said.
“But where are we going?” I stroked my chin like a curious detective. “Anywhere with you would be fun.” His words make me cringe. But I find it sweet anyway. “Stop being so corny and all, Mister.” I said jokingly. “Shall we eat something nice today?” He dragged me out the class and walked out.
We rode the taxi without me knowing where to go. It’s Key’s birthday but I’m the one getting surprised. “Where are we?” I finally asked. “My uncle owns this place, be comfortable.” Key assured me. I nodded and headed off with my hands still intertwined with his.
3 waitresses bowed and welcomed us. I bowed back and Key chuckled as he lean toward my ears and hissed “You’re too polite.”
At the end of the hallway, there has been a reserved table; a VIP one. His uncle must be rich. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s my uncle’s birthday present.” He said as if he’s reading my mind the whole time.
He pulled a chair for me and went to his own seat. The mood of the restaurant was classy, I don’t know if I could get along with it. Key and I are still wearing our school uniform, isn’t this some kind of joke? Anyhow, this is the only thing I could do for Key, accompany him.
I’m still feeling uncomfortable. It’s somewhat new to me. It’s time for appetizer but I really do not have appetite to eat. Somehow, Key then realized and stood up. “Let’s go.”
“But—“ my words were interrupted by him dragging me away—again, for the nth time this day—
Key
Eunhee looked awkwardly around the restaurant. I felt guilty for bringing her there so I need to get her out of there too. We went to a fountain show near the restaurant. It was open for public and I thought Eunhee would really like it.
As expected, she liked it. She ran towards it and stared at it admiringly. “Eunhee-ya!” I called then splashed water onto her. “KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!” She shouted. I tried to run away but it was too late, she had splattered water onto me already. We played with the water well, the feel was a lot better than earlier.
We then got exhausted then sat at the nearest bench. I took the rubber band from her hand and offered to fix her hair into a ponytail. I don’t know why but I was doing pretty well at it. “Wah, you’re so good at it! You did it for other girls, don’t you?” I sensed jealousy. “I can’t deny that.” I chuckled.
She remained silent, she must be thinking of Hana.. again. “This is the first time I did this for someone. Hana had short hair and my mom, no. Just, no.” Eunhee finally laughed through the last sentence.
But then, something caught my attention. On the left nape of her neck, there’s a birth mark. It was the same with Hana’s. Even with this, they’re similar?!
