This is a two-voiced poem. As the name insinuates, there are 2 perspectives.

Japan Both America

It happened August 6th.
There was smoke everywhere.
One word:

Bomb

Can't quite remember where it all went wrong.

There's not much to say.
It was your fault anyway.

No it wasn't.

Let's take it back to when it began.

When you refused to surrender, Japan.

July 26, 1945

It was all you had to do,
but you bit off more than you could chew.
You were the last one left fighting the war,
but still you decided that you wanted more.

I thought I could win!
But let's not get off track here.
This doesn't justify killing tens of thousands of my innocent people.

I gave you a chance on July 26.
I'm so sick and tired of these conflicts.

Let's skip to the massacre.

I just want to finish this mix.

August 6th, 1945

You start.

It started just like any other day.
Well, any other day during wartime,
but anyway,
it was 11 days after I refused to surrender.

I was working on the Manhattan Project,
the world's first production of nuclear weapons.
And on that day,

On August 6th, at 8:16 a.m. the world's first atomic bomb dropped onto the city of Hiroshima.

You named it Little Boy.
Such an innocent name for such a deadly weapon, don't you think?

August 15th, 1945

On July 26th, how do you think the rest of us felt?
After 6 years of hostility, after 6 years of watching our own people die, we thought it was over.
And then you popped in.
We thought you'd attack us!
Hiroshima was simply self defense.

I... I thought if I dragged out the war, I'd exhaust your resources.
I didn't have the... the materials, nor the money, to attack. I swear.
I... didn't want this.

You caused this.

I can't go back in time and surrender.
I can't fix what I've caused.

No, but you can repair the aftermath...
Sign it.

On August 15th, 1945, Japan announced its surrender to the Allies.
And on September 2nd, Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender, officially ending World War 2.

ごめんなさい.

I'm sorry.

I wrote this with a friend for an English assignment, so the historical accuracy is questionable. Our research was limited because we had 3 days to write it.
Our classmates said we had the best performance, (I was Japan) and I'm pretty proud of what we put together. Hope you enjoyed!

Love ya,
