Every year Timothy Reyes throws a mid-annual semester party and whoever misses the party is a complete fool. He is known for his outgoing and wild parties and this year Helen had made it her top priority to take me. I had missed the last three since I entered high school and this party my friends weren't going to need to tell me all the juicy details about what happened at the party, because I was going to witness it with my own eyes.
With the whole deal with The Royal Family still lingering in the back of my mind, going to the party was what I needed. The rest of the week Sebastian nor Sophia pestered me about the King's 'dying' wish. Every time my mom spoke to me she brought it up but I managed to divert the question; I'm hoping by the time she returns tomorrow afternoon she will agree to drop the whole thing.
My dad was fine with letting me go out with my friends, however, I had never asked persimmon about spending the night at Helen or Candace's house. I was certain he was going to say no to the idea, but he surprised me and agreed.
"Your mom gets in town tomorrow at one, so make sure you are here before she arrives. If not you and I will be in big trouble," he warned me about getting back home late. If I wanted freedom, I needed to show him I was responsible enough to be let out.
I nodded. "I got it. You'll call before going to bed, right?" I smiled innocently at him. I needed to set a timer for when he was going to call to be able to get out of the party to answer. I told him all we were doing was studying for a calculus exam and going to bed. He didn't ask many questions and I thanked him for it. If he had drilled me with questions and doubt, I would've caved in and confessed where I was truly going.
"Yeah,"
I smiled. "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, dad." I gave him a quick hug.
"Have fun, sweetie," He said, following me outside. Believe me, I am planning to have a great time.
The original plan was to ride with Helen and go to her house to get ready for the party. My dad ended up calling asking me to stop by the house to have a word with me. For a second I thought he found out where we were going and I freaked out the entire ride to the house. Helen had to yell at me to calm down, there was no way for my dad to find out about where we were going.
I waved at him again and went inside the car. "You were right, all he wanted was to make it clear the time I have to be home tomorrow,"
"Told you," Helen dropped her black sunglasses to the bridge of her nose and began to drive away from my house.
"Helen, are you sure your parents are going to let us go to the party?" Candace asked, raising a brow.
"My parents went to London for the weekend and Wes is going to Barcelona to see his girlfriend so we are completely alone. no permission needed," She smirked. "Do we need to make a pit stop at the mall? Or do we all have an idea of what we are wearing?" I shrugged. I was going to wear jeans and a white tank-top. Party clothes didn't exist in my wardrobe, I didn't have parties to attend. Unless their my dad's work parties but we have to dress all out for that.
"I do!" Candace chimed. "I bought black shorts and a grey long-sleeved crop-top,"
"I'm wearing my ripped jeans and the white tank-top underneath my school shirt," I added. I was content with my outfit, it wasn't over the top nor too plain. My rip jeans sealed my outfit.
Helen gave me a quick glance. "Don't tell me you plan on wearing the jeans with a bunch of tears everywhere?"
"What's wrong with my jeans?" I demanded, turning my full body to face her. "Those are my favorite jeans!"
"You might want to look for a new pair of favorite jeans," Candace muttered, keeping her eyes glued to her phone. "Those jeans are two times your size and they make you look like you have an adult diaper on,"
