Koushi and I have been dating for almost a month now. I'm so grateful to have him as my lover. After [Friend's Name] found out that we are together, they started to cry and it was so dramatic I laughed at them.
I was at the bookstore. I needed to get some revision books for the upcoming mock test. Koushi was supposed to come with me but he got volleyball practise for his upcoming match with Nekoma.
I was searching for book until I found it but it was too high for me to reach. I looked around to see no one so I tried tip-toeing to get it but failed. I even jumped to try and get it. Then, a hand out of nowhere took the book and gave it to me. "Thank y...do I know you?" I asked the person who helped me. He looked familiar.. Tooru
This is confusing..
"No, Miss! But you seemed to be having a trouble taking the book. Do you need any more help? Oh, I'm Oikawa Tooru by the way, nice to meet you!You are..?" He spoke.
I was sort of speechless. Impossible.. If he's my son he wouldn't exist yet. Did he lie to me?I'm so confused..
"Hey,miss..?I know I'm very good-looking to stare at but are you still here on Earth?" He joked.
I blinked, "Ah..I'm [Full Name], nice to meet you too. And thanks for helping me to take the book! Actually, I was wondering..do you still attend school or something?" I needed to know and find out the truth.
"Of course, I'm a thid year in Aoba Johsai,how about you? I guess we are getting to know each other already," He grinned and I rolled my eyes. This Tooru is so different comparing to the future Tooru I met. It's like a not matured and matured person...I guess?
"Third year in Karasuno." I replied shortly.
"Ohh, how about this? Let's exchange contact numbers! So we can talk more amd probably hang out in the future?" He suggested and I shrugged.
"Sure, here you go," I gave him my phone and he put his contact into it. As I did the same on his phone. " Oi, Trashykawa! We need to go already, stop flirting with girls will ya?!" A guy came running to us. He gave me a look and I raised my eyebrow. Then he glared at the brunette.
"Iwa-chan,why are you so mean! And embarrassing me in front of this cute girl!" He whined and I cringed.
How annoying and childish..
Did I say it out loud?
"[Name]-chan, you too?!!" He gasped.
"What? First name basis already? Who are you to call me that? Trashykawa," I smirked.
The guy beside Oikawa was amused.
We both did a high five together.
"This is unfair.." The brunete pouted.
"Alright enough of that, Trashykawa. We need to go and uh–Iwaizumi Hajime, glad to meet you. He has annoying fangirls and I'm glad you don't view him like how his fangirls does," Iwaizumi punched Oikawa's arm and he cried in the background.
"..Cool, I'm [Full Name] and see you around then. I need to go too, bye bye," I gave them a small smile as we parted away.
I still don't understand...

Year 2026
I'm back to the present.. I looked around the house and our picture frames had disappeared. Her favorite cup wasn't in the kitchen counter anymore. Our shared room was no longer ours—just mine now..
I took a seat on the couch.
I remember..I used to cuddle with [Name] at night in the living room binge watching movies.
Not anymore though.
I coughed and I felt dizzy.
It's acting up again.
At least she's happier with someone else now. I failed to keep her happy. I made her sad and heartbroken after.. she found out I was ill. No cure has been found. I won't be living that much longer anymore. And I don't want her to feel lonely. She needs someone who'll replace me. Someone who will love her unconditionally. Be there for her and make her the happiest. And that won't be me anymore. I can't be the one for her.
The ring was still on my finger and hers was in the box, on the table in front of me now. It doesn't belong to her anymore.
I changed the past.
We got married but not anymore.
She'll live a better live with her loved one.

ok ik yall are prolly confused and be like 'isnt this oikawa x reader but why does it seem like a sugawara x reader?'
it's a plot twist and angst where oikawa and reader was supposed to get together ,like it happened but then later on it didn't but the future oikawa changed the past. he was ill and he was dying . he didnt want to leave (y/n) alone so he got her with sugawara. tadaaa. confusing but when u get the story it's like ouch lmao
