(Y/n) clutched Danielle's hand tightly as the doctor ran the ultrasound probe over her stomach.
"Well, Ms. (L/n), it looks like you're going to have a healthy little girl." The doctor pointed out the little blob on the screen. (Y/n) covered her face as she cried happily, Danielle hugging her.
"I don't have any names picked out for a girls." She laughed, wiping her eyes.
"Well you have plenty of time to find the perfect one." The doctor finished up her exam and sent them on their way. They went back to Danielle's flat to rest.
"Do you think I should call him? He should know-"
"Don't you dare. He doesn't deserve to know shit." Danielle glared at (Y/n). She sighed, wrapping a blanket around her pregnant friend. "I know it's going to be tough going through this but I'm here. Just think, in a few days you start your new job and you'll have your own place and I'll only be a phone call away."
"I don't know what I would do without you." (Y/n) hugged her knees to her chest.
Dinner was...surprisingly normal. Dani was honestly impressed that things were going well between her godmother and her father. She could recall too many memories of Danielle talking none too kind about him over the years so to hear them having friendly conversation was a relief.
"My girlfriend will be flying out for the wedding, I hope that's okay." Danielle smiled sheepishly. "Ishya already adores you, Dani, just from what I've told her."
"She a local there?" Tony asked.
"Yeah, met her at the market one day and we just hit it off." Dani was happy that her godmother had found someone, she had never known her to date but knowing that she finally had someone special in her life made her smile.
"I can't wait to meet her, she sounds like a gem." (Y/n) took a sip of her wine.
After dinner, Dani went to pack for her upcoming bachelorette trip, Jonas helping her and discussing wedding details, and the three old friends retired to the living room to sit around and catch up.
"I can't believe she's getting married." Danielle stretched out on the couch, nursing a glass of pinot noir. "Seems like yesterday that she was stumbling around my flat while you were at work."
"I know, and she graduates next year. Where has the time gone?" (Y/n) smiled sadly. Tony remained silent. He didn't feel it his place to contribute to such a melancholy discussion about the daughter he didn't raise. "You'd have been so proud of her, Tony. She won three science fairs and would always beam about being 'just like daddy'." There was no malice in her voice, it was simply a warm hearted statement and it made him hurt. It seemed that he'd be feeling guilty for the rest of his life.
"I'm glad she didn't grow up to be just like me." He said harshly, swirling the ice in his glass. Before (Y/n) could chastise him for saying such a negative thing he continued. "No, she grew up to be like her mother which is way better than being like me."
"I agree." Danielle sipped her wine.
"Danielle!" (Y/n) hit her on the arm.
"What? He's right. I said I wouldn't physically hurt him, never said I wouldn't point out his failure to be there for you or Dani."
"It's all in the past now." (Y/n) said quietly. Danielle just let out a disapproving 'mhm' but dropped it. Conversation turned to the last minute things to be done over the next two weeks.
