Two months later...

The day seemed to zip right by before his eyes. The students were outside, dressed in silky gowns with silky hats, waiting for their names to be called to hold a piece of paper that explained 'You did it! You suffered lots of years of torture for this piece of paper! Congrats!' Derry High Schools seniors were graduating. Although most of them barely passed the year with D's.

When Richie Tozier's diploma was in his hands, he smiled widely, looking out at the crowd as many people cheered for him, including his closest friends, including Eddie.

When Eddie was called up, he smile too. He could sense that not many people would clap for him- which was true- but the only thing that mattered was that he made it. He made it. He had walked up to the stage, his eyes couldn't focus anywhere but the Principal who held his very own diploma. Eddie shook his hand, smiled and waved, and quickly walked off the stage thinking it was a waste of his goddamn time.

And even after that, about a week or closer to a month after their graduation ceremony, Eddie was packing suitcases into a blue Malibu. It was particularly hot and humid, making him have to wear some stupid Hawaiin button-up shirt with a plain white tee underneath. Richie was packing his stuff too. They were going to the airport to head off to state of New York.

Before getting on the plane and after stepping off, Richie had kissed Eddie so hard and good. He was so happy they were doing this together. A year ago, he would have despised the idea of running away and even kissing Eddie Kaspbrak, but now he just can't handle the temptation of smacking his lips with his own.

Richie was saddened to be leaving his friends, but things turned out well. Ben and Beverly were getting hitched next year, and wanted to have some kids. They were going to move to Philadelphia. Mike had bought his own library in the town, filled with thousands of books, and he began a relationship with Stanley Uris.

The brunet had been so, so thankful for Richie. He was ecstatic about leaving the shit-hole Derry town. Eddie was glad Richie didn't leave him behind; that would have been a nightmare. And he was most happy about leaving his mother.

She begged him for weeks not to go, but he gave her a meaningful speech (which also included cusses) and basically told her to fuck off. Well, she did. She did.

After the whole running away situation, Frank and Laurie had actually called. One of those times was for Frank to apologise for probably twenty minutes. Over and over, a mantra of sorrys and deepest regrets. Eddie forgave his dad, because he still loved him. The other call was he and Laurie (and even a "bubba" from baby Tony) congratulating him on graduating. (Eddie had shed a few tears).

After their landing in New York, things were perfect.

Three years later...

And things are still perfect; probably even more than that.

They're completely fine living on their own, just the two of them, and a dog named Rudy. They live in a pretty apartment in a large building, and have a nice view of the city from their living room. Despite the homophobes living in their building, they didn't care, Eddie's had enough of opinions.

Everyday they made lunch and dinner together and snuggled on the couch watching some random movie. Like Jaws or Scream or Pretty In Pink. (Other nights, when either of them was really stressing out about work, they'd have sex and use movies for background noise).

For their friends and even the new ones they've made doing their jobs (Richie went to college for a year, then became a radio show host. Eddie had picked up a job in a limousine business, somehow...) they had some types of get-together hostings. It was always hosted at their place. A few times, Ben and Bev (and their baby girl, Tiffany) flew over. Mike would get a good call in, when he wasn't busy with library things.

At one of those get-togethers, Richie had proposed.

It was such an unexpected thing to happen- and yet Eddie had teared up and cried so hard, and hugged his fiancee happily. He said yes. And Richie was pretty much never happier. All of their friends clapped (Bev was pregnant so she shed lots of happy tears).

Now, they're engaged.

Today, Richie and Eddie were laying down on the sofa. Eddie's head tucked under Richie's chin (his brown hair was back and fluffier than ever), while Richie had a hand rubbing his back. They were watching Fight Club and Eddie was particularly bored. There was nothing to do because it was the weekend and he had cleaned up the house. Eddie was staring at Richie's tattoos (he had four of them now; a marijuana leaf, a skeleton head, Eddie's initials, and some type of evil plant).

"Rich?"

"Yes, babe?"

"Do you remember anything about high school?"

"Kinda."

"Like what?" He asked him, a sense of curiosity because he knew nearly everything (every bad thing, but one good thing) about his high school experience.

"Why do you bring this up on our lovely day off together?" Richie questioned, staring down at his love with kind eyes and a soft smile.

"I'm bored."

"So you're bringing up high school? C'mon, Ed's, my love."

Eddie shrugged. "Come on, pleeeeease? Tell me what you remember!"

Richie's heart softened. "Well, I do remember there being a cute boy in my classes who hated me."

"You hated me, too."

"And that cute boy had a cute little butt!" He slapped his ass.

"Stop!" Eddie groaned, but Richie only laughed. The brunet slapped his chest and made Richie partly grunt.

"Anyways, I do remember when we ran away."

"That was... something."

Richie nodded and chuckled as memories flooded through his head. "But I also remember after that, you cut your hair-"

"Oh, Lord."

"And made it lighter. You were such a sweet thing, you still are!"

"Alright, alright. I know."

Richie snickered at him and adjusted his glasses (he had gotten a new pair which were black and smaller than his goofy, tortoiseshell ones). Eddie stared up at him and smiled warmly. Jesus Christ, he loved him.

"Yeah, and I recall every time I'd call you Blondie and then you'd smack me."

"It was a horrible nickname."

"It's iconic."

"That's really gay."

The ravenet laughed again, stroking Eddie's chin with his fingers.

"I remember that you and Bev would always fart on each other." Said Eddie, immediately cracking up with laughter. He can clearly see those moments in his head; one time they went to watch a movie at Ben's and Richie had drinken two cans of soda. All of a sudden he got up and put his butt in front of Bev's face, farting. Everyone in the room laughed hysterically. Good times.

"Oh yeah!" Richie laughed. "That was awesome!"

"It was really gross."

"But you still laughed! Be glad I didn't choose to unload on you." He said which made Eddie crinkle his nose adorably.

The bespectacled man then ran his fingers through Eddie's hair, sighing contently. He was so happy. So, so happy.

Eddie got up then, smoothing out his pajama pants that were blue plaid. He asked, "Want anything from the kitchen?"

"Sure, gimme a taste of that ass, 'cause you're a snack."

"Fuck you. I'm getting chocolate milk."

Richie watched his fiancee go to the kitchen with a grin on his face. Rudy wagged his tail as he followed Eddie, the golden retriever letting out a small howl to get a treat. He waited for him to come back, and looked at the TV again. Fight Club was about to end.
