It was almost seven sharp at night and I was helping my mom setting the plates. Turns out my dad had a dinner meeting with his colleagues so he won't be joining us tonight.

Such a shame because mom made his all-time favorite food which is fish and chips. Oh well, more food for me and Luke.

"It's so nice to know that you've met Luke and in the same school with him as well," Mom said excitedly while she put plates of potatoes in the middle of the table next to her famous fried battered fish. I could sense her being genuinely happy for me.

"I know right! it's like fate brought us back together" I grinned at her. She gave me a smile back and ruffled my hair. I could tell she was really happy for me and relieved that I was reunited with Luke.

As soon as I got home I informed her that there will be another person joining us for dinner, and at first, she thought it was Calum.

I said no it's Luke.

She gave me a look of disbelieve

"Hemmings?" She asked with a shocked face.

I nodded vigorously while smiling.

She asked me so many questions in which I answered all of them excitedly as if I just met a celebrity.

"Turns out he still lives right across us," I told her as I lined the utensils carefully.

"Oh really? That's great to hear! Maybe tomorrow I'll come by and say hi to Liz. It's been ages since I last saw her" She uttered.

"Yeah, that's a great idea" I agreed with her.

*ding dong*

My head swerved abruptly as I know who just rang my doorbell.

"I'll get it!" I yelled to my mom as she was in the kitchen.

I brushed my thick brown hair with my fingers as I walked hurriedly to the open door.

"Hey! Right on time" I opened the door and there he was standing tall in front of me with a box of muffins?

"Hi Ashy, I bought muffins! My mom told me to bring it over as a thank you for inviting me over for dinner" He grinned at me as he took a step inside my house.

He was wearing a black hoodie with a plain white t-shirt and jeans. His hair was not perfectly quiffed with gel. I assumed he just got out of the shower and came here. And is that a lip ring I see?

"Oh, you didn't have to dear" My mom came as she was wiping her hands with a handkerchief. They greeted each other and she hugged Luke while tip-toeing which is funny to see (and a bit annoying as I need to tiptoe too if I wanted to hug him). Luke gave her the biggest bear hug ever and I must say his hugs are exceptionally the best.

"Luke, why are you so tall? You were way shorter and skinnier than Ashton last time I saw you" She examined Luke from head to bottom with a face of disbelieved again.

I mean I can't blame the women, even I couldn't recognize him before.

Luke chuckled politely.

"Puberty I guess, and I do sports too now. So maybe that's why" He explained while the three of us walked and sat down together at the dining chair.

"Oh, it smells great Mrs. Irwin!" He complimented while scanning the tables with lots of fish and chips and sauces. I could see my mom blushed and smiled because of the compliment.

"Well, let's dig in. I'm starving!" I grew impatient and I was really hungry. We chowed down on the fish and chips while catching up with each other. I sat next to Luke and every once in a while I would glance at him to see him eat or talking to my mom. Which is kind of creepy but couldn't help it.
