interrogation

"Need something to eat?" The police officer said towards the young girl, trying to lighten the mood.

Both her face and her lips were pale. The girl didn't respond and just sat there staring at the cold metal table.

"Jeez, you looked as if you haven't have any sleep. That scene must have haunted you, didn't it."

"...."the girl has any hint of reaction as the room grew silent. Sensing the awkwardness, he cleared his throat and opened the file.

" Miss Jae, you aren't here as a suspect, we just need to know bout the case more before we could finalize the report being a suicide case, so it would be great if you would cooperate." The male officer sigh and said as he tried to make the girl less nervous.

"Did the victim have any behaving prior to suicide or have a history of mental illness." the girl stayed silent.

"Did the victim experience any bullying in school or face any difficulties that he would prefer to share it with you instead of his family?" the girl nodded her head softly.

"Miss Sarah..."The girl whispered softly, the male officer didn't catch it, but reading the girl's lips, he knew that it was important.

"Sorry, what did you just said?" He said as his grip on the pen tightens.

"...This... won't get out to the public, would it? No one would know that it was me that said this...right?" The girl said as she fidgets her hands.

"No, this conversation may be recorded, but it is for case research only, it would be confidential from outside this case."He said. The girl nodded as a response as she paused for a while, having an inner conflict on whether to talk about what she had in mind or to just keep it in between herself.

"Mark was a pretty nice boy, he had a nice character that was very easy-going, that's why he's always has taken advantage of, his classmates made fun of him due to his happy-go-lucky character but they never touch him physically...They only did it verbally, even though it wasn't very harsh and so he laughs it off but he was still hurt. Especially from one person which he held very dear of, the one he trusted the most..." The girl started explaining, she said everything carefully, all words had been selected carefully before actually saying it out but as she was about to continue, she hesitated, she was scared to continue, she had many thing crossing her head,'what would happen if I say her name','would she get into trouble?',' would she blame me?'.

"Miss?" the officer called out to the girl who was still deep in her thoughts. She looked back up as her dry lips slowly opened as if she was about to say something.

".... that person was... Miss Sarah."

The clock ticked as the time passed, the girl answered every question asked and the officers seem liked he had a new lead to the case. He dismissed her and so they went out from the interrogation room. The girl scrunched her body together as her shoulder hunched, obviously showing that she was still scared. She was welcomed into the arms of a man as he thanked the officer.

"Thank you so much for looking after my daughter, officer." the man said as he bows down endlessly with the girl still in his arms.

"No, it should be us that thank you, your daughter was very cooperative and she didn't cause us any trouble.Unlike some kids involved in this case." the officer said as he messages his temples to ease his headache caused by those troublemakers.

"Haha, Kids could be tough to handle sometimes these days."He said as he looked at his watch.

"Oh, look at the time! I must return home now with my child, her mother is worried sick, knowing her baby girl being interrogated by the police. She should be somewhere at home now with hot homecooked food on the table, praying to the gods, hoping that this won't be a trauma for the child while waiting at the door to welcome her baby."He said as he looked at the child as he joked.
