I walked in the gate at my grandparents house after tossing on a bathing suit under my sun dress. We still had an hour of day light and I intended on spending it in the pool before I got too intoxicated to be around it.

Lanie had stayed at the car, moving out of the way as our friends and some of my family filed in the fence so she could wait on Jason. I wasn't sure what I expected to see when I walked in the door but it sure wasn't this.

There was a DJ in the corner and people in the pool, the cabana had been turned into a dance floor and there was a banner above the pool that ready "Annsley's 19th". There were tubs of ice loaded with alcohol and the tiki bar against the garage was being run by my cousin Lauren's boyfriend Quinn. i usually bartended but this was my day, it was an exception. My dad and Mandy were standing beside the bar talking to Quinn about something and there was a table set up against the house with a cake and some presents on it. It was decorated in teal and silver, everything was, and the beach balls that were laying around and being tossed in the pool were Teal or clear. WHen my dad saw me he waved and cupped his hands over his mouth.

"Hey! Party girl's here!" He yelled, laughing at my blush as he gave me a wink and turned back to Quinn.

"So, this is all fro you huh?"

I turned and instantly suppressed the smile that made it's way onto my face as I looked at him.

"Yeah, I guess it is." I said, following his gaze to the banner on the tiki bar that read "Annsley's Tiki"

"You know, if I would have known the gift bags were all gonna be that big I would have gotten you more than what your gramma told me to get you." He said, scratching the back of his neck and giving me a white toothed grin.

He was tall, standing easily at least six foot, and he had black hair and 5 o'clock shadow, his full lips sitting perfectly above his cute chin. he had a straight nose that wasn't really long and a scar that cut through his left eye brow. His eyes were a dark brown color that made me weak in the knees and the look he was giving me only added to it. His skin was tanned and I could tel he had some indian heritage, even if it wasn't much.

I looked at him, puzzled.

"You didn't have to get me anything, trust me. Those bags and boxes are probably all from family. " I said, reassuring him.

"Well, your gramma told me to get you a few six packs of smirnoff and a candle. " He said, laughing a little." I couldn't find the scent she was talking about so I got you that instead."

I followed his finger to the table where a small bag was sitting alone on the opposite side of the cake as the other presents.

"You really didn't have to get me anything." I said, walking over to the pool.

"Yeah well, I did anyways." He said, laughing a little.

Lanie and Jason walked in the fence as I was bending down to let my feet dangle in the water and about to start a conversation with Destiny and our friend Ebony.

"You gonna get in?" Ebony asked, wiping a hand over her face as she splashed me a little. I smiled and stood up, stripping my sun dress off and lettingit fall at my feet. I slipped out of my gladiaters and started walking towards the diving board. Without a second thought I ran to the end and did a front flip, diving straight into the water.

Whe I resurfaced Lanie and Jason were both in the pool and I was standing in the shallow end.

I looked up and saw Parker heading towards me, a smirnoff and a beer in his hand.
