School. For most people, it's a blast; getting to hang out with friends, planning for homecoming or getting pepped up for a football game. Me on the other hand, I dread even the thought of it. Being the school loner ins't exactly something that I admire. I mean sure, I like to be alone, but not lonely.

I live only a few minutes away from my school and I don't have a car yet so every morning, I get to walk there. In all honesty, it's probably the highlight of my day. With my headphones in and the world out, everything seems relaxing. Unfortunately my paradise only lasts 10 to 12 minutes as I become bombarded by people when I enter the front doors. By now, most people stay clear of me and I make my way towards my first class: biology. With about ten minutes to spare, I pull out The Maze Runner and begin to read.

Before I know it, the bell rings and the class becomes flooded with people. I'm lucky enough to have Summer in this class and when I glance towards her seat, expecting her to be there, I smile. Then I realized after a split second that I'm grinning at an empty plastic chair.

"Good morning, class." my biology teacher,Mr. Langley said, expressing the shared dread for Mondays. A few returning "mornings" echo across the room but, as usual, I stay quiet. Before the teacher could say anything else, a soft knock was heard from the door and it creaked open.

Wow. I was fully unprepared for what my eyes had seen next. A tall, blonde, boy with beautiful blue eyes, a lip ring, and not a sinlge hair out of place entered with slight nervousness. The second I saw him, I got mad butterflies in my stomach. As said before, wow

"Um, yes, is this, uh, Mr. Langley's class?" he stammered.

"Yes, that is me. And you are?"

"Um, Luke Hemmings. I'm a, uh, new student."

Luke Hemmings. Even his name sounded perfect. I soon realized that I was staring so I quickly pulled out my phone, hid it behind my binder, and began texting Summer.

[To: Sum]

If you're not in class, then where are you?

"Well, Luke, it seems there are only two seats open so you may take your pick." Mr. Langley gestured towards the class.

Wait, there's and open seat next to me. My hands instantly became sweaty and my head began to spin  as Luke walked down the isle and decided to choose the seat directly beside me. My thoughts filled with things like "Maybe I should say something. Should I say something? Would that be weird? That would be weird, wouldn't it." Before I could decide on what to do, my phone lit up after receiving a text back from Summer.

[To: Violet]

I'm sorry, V, not feeling too hot today so I stayed home. I'll probably be back tomorrow

Love youuuu

I immediately shot a text back distracting my brain from the model that was next to me.

[To: Sum]

It's alright, feel better

love you toooo

Biology ended before I knew it and the day dragged on even longer with Luke in my mind. I ended up having 3/6 of my classes with him; biology, world history, and english.

Usually after school I get a ride with Sum since my house is a stop on the way to hers, but with her being sick, I walked home. I knocked on the door nd stepped inside.

"Hi, honey!" my mom exclaimed, "How was your day?"

I responded with a simple "good" even though I blushed walking upstairs knowing it was great.
