Chapter 11 - Broken Spine

-Flashback-

Katsuki stared in front of him, still frozen. He hadn't spoken a word after what happened. He didn't do anything to stop Deku from fleeing, he couldn't help the others either... He felt absolutely useless... And scared... And he didn't like it.

He'd stayed quiet as the authorities arrived and when they treated his wounds in the ambulance. He hadn't spoken when he was brought to a large medical ward with the others of his old class. No, he simply stared ahead, unresponsive to anyone.

Kirishima sighed, sitting down next to his best friend. He wasn't injured that much due to his quirk but that didn't mean he felt any better about the situation.
"Momo is in surgery" the red head said quietly but Bakugou didn't react.
"He broke her spine, it's serious" Kirishima continued.
"The doctors said she probably won't be able to walk anymore... She'll be stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Her hero carreer ended before it even began..."

Kirishima started crying and hugged the blond, who was still unresponsive.
"How could something like this happen?!" he cried out.
"Why did Midoriya do this?!"
Midoriya... Deku... He did this... Katsuki was still in denial about the whole situation. His pure and innocent broccoli couldn't possibly be the one that... No. He shouldn't even think about it.

Bakugou was the only one who'd seen Midoriya's face after he snapped Momo's spine. The regret, the fear of himself and his actions... But instead of trying to explain everything, he fled. And that was something his Izuku would never do. Kirishima kept sobbing on his shoulder as Kacchan clenched his fists.

It's been a few hours and most people's parents had already come in to see if their children were alright. The nurses had shushed them away though. No one was to be in contact with the teens until they were all interrogated. Suddenly the door burst open and All Might walked in, panting.

"Everyone okay?! I came as soon as I could! Man, I hate stairs..."
"Yaoyorozu is in surgery, some have minor injuries, some have burns... Nobody died" Iidia said.
"I'm glad" All Might sighed in relief.
"How is Momo? She'll be okay, right?"
"Her spine is broken, she'll be paralysed from the waist down" Todoroki stated, visually angry.

Before anyone could say anything about it, he punched a wall, tears slowly making their way over his face.
"We weren't able to intervene at all! We're supposed to be heroes but we can't even stop one fucking person!"
"Being angry now won't help anyone" All Might stated.
"You're all well and that's what most important"

"B-but Deku got away!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"H-he fled! He can't get away with what he did to us!"
"He won't" All Might said.
"His actions were unforgivable and he'll be punished accordingly"

Bakugou frowned, standing up, surprising the red head. He started walking over to All Might in silence, glaring at the ex-hero. Everyone stared at the blond as he came to a stop in front of the symbol of peace.
"Just like Deku, you've always been a terrible lair"
This shocked everyone in the room. The first words he spoke after the incident and he was already getting into fights?

"You know where he is, don't you? You're helping him because he's your heir"
"Young Bakugou, I can assure you that-"
"Don't fucking lie to me! You know where Deku is! Tell me goddammit!"
"So you can kill him?" All Might asked.
"I'm sorry, but you're in no state to-"
"Don't fucking tell me what to do! Give me his location or I'll blast your face off!"

That was it. That made the class react and pull Bakugou back.
"He's right though. Ribbit. You do know where Midoriya is hiding" Tsuyu stated, looking at All Might.
"That's ridiculous" he choked out, making everyone stare and glare at him.
"What?! I really don't know where he is!"
"Lair" Katsuki spat out in anger.
"But fine. Don't tell us. I'll find out anyway"
