I knocked on the door of the tree house. No answer. I flew up to the window. No one. I went in through a secret entrance I built. No one. Where were they?

"Jake! That was awesome! I can't believe we got this goblin head that easily," the sweet voice of Finn called. I turned invisible and watched as they came in. Jake's fur went up.

"Man, something doesn't feel right..." Jake elbowed Finn, and sniffed around the house. I thought he had left me alone, when his nose rammed into my gut.

"Ow," I materialized and looked at Jake. He was scared. I guess he still didn't get over his fear of me. "What is it Jake? Scared?" I flashed my fangs and turned my face into a bat.

"Marceline!" Finn giggled, hugging me. I embraced him with love. Oh, how much I loved him. But he was thirteen and I was eighteen.

"What shall we do today?" I asked, putting my hands on my hips. Finn frowned and looked over at Jake.

"Well, we just got back from adventuring and..." Finn rubbed the back of his neck.

"Nah, I understand. I wouldn't want to hang out with you loosers any way," I quickly left the tree house. I didn't do a very good job of clearing up my depression and crush over the thirteen year old boy.

I walked through the woods, kicking rocks as I went. I was so sad I couldn't clear things up with Finn. I sucked the red from an Apple. Ugh, I ruined everything by falling for a little boy.
