Pose For Me, Levi

Chapter 17

Levi POV:

Two days passed since Mina was taken into custody. Eren and I decided to officially move in together, but we wanted a different apartment. We'd been looking through the catalogues for one that was bigger and reasonably priced. Eren said he'd keep his eyes out for anything interesting.

He told me he wanted to wait until we knew for sure when Mina's courtdate was before he bought our Paris tickets, so we hadn't gone anywhere in the days we'd been home. During that time, he hasn't left my side. I mean, he lets me go to the bathroom and stuff on my own, but he clings to me like glue if I'm anywhere else in the apartment. I can't say I'm complaining. I actually really like it when he's like this with me. Even though I'd never admit it.

We sat curled up on the couch. Eren was trailing his fingers over my thigh as we watched a movie. His concussion had lessened up a bit, but he still needed to be careful. I suggested that he wear sunglasses so the screen didn't hurt his eyes. That seemed to work.

I felt bad that he had gotten hurt because of someone trying to get to me, but he never said anything about it and blew off the subject if I tried to bring it up. "It's not the first time I've had a concussion," he says. Or "It's worth it because you're safe."

I laid my head on his chest. The movie was one I'd seen a thousand times and it was more of a comfort thing than an 'actually enjoy the movie' thing. Eren just hugged me tighter and kissed my scalp.

It was raining outside. Calm drizzles were followed by torrential rain which was followed by calm. It was nice to just relax and cuddle with the man I loved as it stormed outside.

I've always loved the rain.

The movie soon ended and Eren turned off the tv.

"You wanna do anything? I'm fine to just relax with you if you're in that mood."

"No, actually I'd really like to go play in the rain."

"Yeah?" Eren smiled. "You might catch a cold."

"Colds are not caused by rain. It's a viral infection."

"Which grows more common in cold weather."

"Eren, it's warm outside. It's just raining." I looked up at him and smiled. "Please?" Eren pouted a little but eventually gave in.

"Aw fine. But we're wearing warm clothes!"

"It won't matter if they're just gonna get wet anyway, but if that'll make you happy then fine." I stood up and Eren followed me. I put on a long-sleeved hoodie and a pair of thick sweatpants. He dressed similarly, wearing a zip-up jacket over a warm shirt and some swetpants that matched mine. We walked hand in hand out of the apartment building.

There was this little walkway to a pond in the complex that was always full of ducks and flowers and things. We decided to go there so we wouldn't be out in a parking lot while it was raining. That would be a recipe for disaster. And we most certainly don't need any more of those.

I ran to a patch of grass and turned my face to the sky. The warm rain hit my cheeks and slid down. Whenever I did this, I couldn't help but be reminded of my childhood. My mom liked the rain too. She'd take me to a park if it wasn't a thunder storm and we'd just run around and enjoy it. She still does that sometimes, although now she usually goes alone.

Now instead of me and my mom, it was me and Eren running around as the rain soaked through our clothes.

He chased me behind the pond to the hill behind it, both of us laughing and smiling the whole time. It was muddy on the way up and our shoes weren't made for water, so we eventually had to stop and take them off. The wet grass tickled my toes as we finished walking to the top and laid down. We just stared at the sky together.

Raindrops sat on Eren's eyelashes like how dew settles on leaves. It was like his eyes attracted the water. I couldn't look away. It was mesmerizing.

He looked over at me and the drops slid down his cheeks. His beautiful ocean eyes met mine. He grinned. I smiled back and cupped his cheek, pulling him in for a tender kiss in the rain.

Cheesy it may be, but it was wonderful. He placed a hand on my hip and kissed me deeper. He kept it innocent, romantic. I pulled back after a minute and stood up.

"Cath me if you can!" I took off down the hill. I heard Eren laugh and follow behind.

As fun as everything was, it started to get a little uncomfortable in soggy clothes. Pur feet were muddy and the shoes we had discared had pools of water inside them now. So Eren and I started walking home. The rain picked up again and he laughed as I broke into a run. He caught up with me and we walked inside. Absolutely. Soaking. Wet.

And I couldn't have been happier.

He swept me into his arms and carried me to the elevator. We were back upstairs and unlocking the door in less than a minute.

We got inside and locked the door. Wet clothes were discarded in favor of towels. We dried off and got in comfortable pajamas to cuddle back up on the couch.

Warm blanket draped over us, hot chocolate in hand, and another movie on, we settled down for the night. Just listening to the quiet sounds of the rain outside and eachother's breathing.
