So yes. I had to drag Shane's dead body to the hospital. The hospital being my house of course. Mom really wasn't that suspicious of me bringing an unconscious boy home which really worries me but then again I was me. Jake had teased me the entire night after I forced him to help me lift Shane's body on the couch. He remained unconscious for the whole night but my mom made sure he was comfortable and not at risk of hurting himself. It looked scary that he was so still, thank goodness he had a pulse.
So at 3 in the morning Jake was like:
"One date?" He asked sternly.
"He fainted." I defended.
"You brought him home after one date?" He asked again.
"One; it was not a date and two; he fainted."
"And why is that exactly?" He asked suspiciously. "What lead to that turn of events." He raised his eyebrows suggestingly.
"You know, don't you?" I asked.
"DUuh." He answered.
"Okay, we kissed. And?" I retorted.
"You kissed. I'm impressed. " Jake clapped his hands. "Finally." He muttered after.
"Wait you didn't know?" I asked.
"Not a clue." He smiled mischievously.
"You are really the worst."
"That's not she said, last night," He bit his lips like he was remembering a good memory.
"Jakob Park, you need an STI test." He rolled his eyes.
"So you like this guy?" Jake asked and I nodded but shook my head at the same time so it looked as if I was a psychotic zombie.
"So you went with a guy you don't like...on Valentine's day?" I did the zombie thing again.
"Okay...how does he make you feel?" He changed the subject.
"Well...he has different personalities...so it's hard to say." I laughed at my little inside joke making Jake raise his brow.
"What in the hell is that supposed to mean?" He rolled his eyes.
"Well..." I paused looking at the ceiling as though I would get some sort of sacred message in the rooftop.
"On one side he acts really adventurous, fun, mischievous but then he's really mature and calm but still fun, sweet and caring but his true, real personality; his actual self is funny and sarcastic and playful and kind and relaxed. " I finished."Wow, he has a lot of sides," Jake commented.
"Tell me about it." I laughed. I would know.
"Which one do you like most? "
"Personality-wise...I guess his real true personality is the best but in actions, I like the calm one. He gave me a piggy back. And won me a bear." I replied.
He looked at me as though I was odd but didn't question it.
I heard my mom's voice bellow from down stairs and we rushed to go see what she wanted
"Mackenzie, your friend is having a panic attack. I'm trying to calm him down." Shane was sitting, trembling in a corner, cold sweating. He had flung the blanket off and was near tears.I rushed over to Shane and looked him in the eyes. He looked scared and vulnerable as he looked up at me. I grabbed a safety kit from a shelf deck and got out some gloves pulling them on as quick as possible.
"Shane...I'm gonna touch you, okay?" I whispered to him and he nodded rocking back and forth. I sat down next to him scooting closer and wrapped my arms around his broad frame. Rocking with him he began to breathe softer and calmer and my parents and Jake stood in the living room watching me but I shooed them away in case he felt embarrassed.
