The first thing Will noticed when he regained consciousness was that he was strung up from the rafters like a deer. He slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was in an old hunting cabin. He recognized it immediately as the cabin that had been owned by Garret Jacob Hobbs. Not seeing his captor, Doctor Gideon, anywhere, Will began to try and work at the ropes that bound his wrists, but the more he did, the tighter and tighter they got. Soon, Will's wrists were bleeding and he could no longer feel his fingers.

"Did you miss me, Will?" Gideon said, walking into the room suddenly. Will glared at him. Gideon walked closer to Will and noticed the blood dripping down his arms from his bleeding wrists. "Uh,uh,uh, you were trying to escape, weren't you, Mr. Graham?" Gideon said playfully. "We can't have that, now can we?" he said in mock disapproval. "That just won't do at all." Gideon smiled at Will, a wolfish smile that was anything but pleasant. "We'll just have to fix that, now won't we?" Gideon said with an evil smirk.

Gideon pulled out a large hunting knife from his pocket, throwing the sheath onto the table. Gideon approached Will, knife at his side, the steel glinting in the sunlight that filtered in through the grimy windows. Doctor Gideon grinned at Will. "I promise that this won't hurt a bit."

Gideon started at Will's sternum, cutting straight down to his belly-button. Not deep enough to gut him, but deep enough to cause quite a bit of bleeding. Then he began the horizontal cuts. One across Will's upper sternum, from shoulder to shoulder, one across his chest, and one across his stomach. Will groaned loudly, his stomach muscles had tightened involuntarily while Gideon made the cut. Will's shirt was covered in cuts and soaked with his blood. Gideon raised his knife again to begin a cut across Will's face.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a voice said from the doorway. Will lifted his head off his chest in weariness and saw Hannibal standing there.

"Ah, Doctor Lector, how nice of you to come to the party," Gideon said, turning away from Will.

"If this is what you call a party, I would be terrified to see your guests," Hannibal said calmly. "Let Will go," he said, his voice becoming hard.

Ummm.....no," Gideon said, pretending to think about it. "I need him to tell me who the Chesapeake Ripper is so I can destroy him."

            "He doesn't know," Hannibal said.

"And how would you know?" Gideon prodded.

Hannibal took a step closer to Gideon. "Do you really think that you would've found Will at my house if he knew who the Ripper was?" Hannibal hinted.

Gideon's eyes widened in understanding and he smiled. "Well, I guess I won't be needing William after all," he said. He pivoted and pulled a gun from his pocket, shooting Will in the heart.

Hannibal was paralyzed with shock, but it was only momentary. He quickly walked up behind Gideon and karate chopped him in the neck, hitting the pressure point and paralyzing him long enough for Hannibal to take both the gun and the knife away from him. Hannibal then grabbed the hatchet that was leaning against the small wood pile next to the fireplace. He quickly swung the blunt end at Gideon's thigh, breaking the bone with a sickening crack. He did it again to the other leg and Gideon hit the floor with a solid thump. Hannibal then grabbed the knife he had taken form Gideon and cut Will down, catching him as he fell. He kneeled on the floor with Will in his arms. He knew Will only had a few seconds left of life and that it wasn't enough to time to tell him everything Hannibal wanted to. "I'm so sorry, Will," Hannibal told him, his voice nearly breaking.

Will smiled weakly up at him. "Not...your...fault," he managed and his eyes slowly closed as his life left him. Hannibal allowed one single tear to run down his face and watched as it splashed onto Will's lifeless face.

"Well, well, well," Doctor Gideon said from his spot on the floor. "Who knew that the Chesapeake Ripper had a heart. It's a pity it was such a fragile thing."

Hannibal felt himself grow cold and lifeless, nothing existing inside him except the fury that filled his entire being. He had no other thought other than to make this despicable creature pay for what it did to his Will.

Hannibal carefully laid Will's body on the floor and stood up, grabbing the hatchet. He stalked over to Gideon, a dangerous look on his face. "You know," Hannibal began, "I would strangle you if you had a neck."

Gideon chuckled. "Doctor, I think you need to freshen up on your anatomy, for I'm still attached to my neck."

Hannibal glowered at him, his face hard with fury. "Not for long," he said. He got to watch as Gideon's eyes widened in fear and understanding before Hannibal beheaded him with Garret Jacob Hobbs's hatchet.

Gideon's head rolled over toward the door and Hannibal stepped over it as he carried Will's lifeless corpse out of the cabin.

(A/N- If it makes anyone feel any better, I made myself cry writing this chapter, twice writing it and then again typing it up. I'm so sorry!....but not really, it needed to be done.)
