Ali POV
———————
Alex and I sleep after the interviews, probably out of relief that we didn't embarrass ourselves. I wake up the next morning to Enobaria exclaiming "Today's the big day." I have no idea what she means until I remember today IS the day. The day we are put into the arena. I meet up with the others, and have my last decent meal that I'll have for a while. Were directed onto a Capital hovercraft, and taken underneath the arena to prepare. On the hovercraft, there going one by one placing tracking chips in the tributes arms. She reaches me, and shots the metal chip into my arm. It stings for a while, but eventually goes away. We're dropped off a good 10ish yards away from one another. I'm in between Alex And Tabi. Aurora joins me underground as I enjoy my last few moments of peace. She ties my hair into a sturdy ponytail, so I don't have my short bob in my face, and wishes me luck. The countdown starts, and I step onto my circular platform. The platform rises to the surface, reveling what our arena looks like. This years arena is a huge forest with a variety of different plants everywhere. The arena is full except for an open clearing where the cornucopia is as well as the starting positions. This arena, could very well be where I take my last breath.Kendley POV
————————-
My platform rises and I'm consumed with fear. At least our arena is calming, a forest. What a great place to die. The announcer starts the countdown. 5... 4 ... 3... 2... 1... The gong sounds. Everybody is off their platforms. I run away from the cornucopia, towards the woods, alternating between jogging, and walking, trying to put as much space between the other Tributes and me as possible. I climb a tall tree, it's tall enough that I'm this far out, and I can still clearly see the blood bath. I think about what Lightna, my mentor would have told me. She would have said to notice your competition. So I start watching the blood bath, noticing where everybody goes. I'm not the only one who fled. Most tributes ran into the cornucopia, but some ran away, seeking shelter if the forest. I see the blood in bloodbath. I see two tributes die, but I'm sure there were more. A girl, I'm pretty sure from seven. She has medium length brown hair and hazel eyes. I remember Reagan telling me her name was Hannah. Either way, one of the careers has her in serious danger. They career is Alex's district partner, Ali. Hannah looked like she was tryouts by to get a survival kit from the cornucopia, but against her luck, Ali has a throwing knife nailed in the back of her head.. ouch.
The second tribute I see go, he is short, has faint brown hair, and was almost about to make it out into the safety of the woods, along with the rest of us who fled. But, Jack grabs his head and snaps his neck against a rock.. that's gotta hurt. The reality of what is happening finally settles in. I'm going to die.
