"Again?" I began to laugh incredulously as his cheeky grin peeked up from behind the curtain, "AJ, another pair of boots and we'll have no space to walk in the flat."
Pushing back the curtain, I walked into our joint (not-so joint considering that it was 99% AJ's stuff) walk-in closet, where AJ was casually leaning back in the wooden chair with a smirk on his face.
"Honestly though," I laughed again as I had to walk through an assortment of different pairs of cowboy boots and leather ones, "Why do you tell me you're going shopping? You could cut to the chase and tell me you're buying a new pair instead."
"Well, my intentions were to buy a new pair of cargo pants too," he shrugged, scratching his chin, "They just had them in beige, and I fucking hate that color. Nicked these for only 2 bucks," he wiggled his feet proudly, "It's been a while since I've gotten a good deal."
"Thank goodness I'm not into shopping," I snorted, standing beside him and brushing back his electric blue hair fondly as he sweetly stared up at me, "I've got no patience for negotiations."
"You're missing out baby," he shook his head, "But anyways, I got you something today."
"Me?" I asked in surprise, "What's the occasion?"
"Just wanted to pamper my beautiful queen, is that a crime?" with a breathtaking smile, he sent my heart soaring as he clutched my hand and gave it a squeeze, "Go on then, try it on," he gave me a small push towards a black box sitting on top of his collection of jackets.
Warily, especially knowing how AJ loved buying eccentric and extravagant clothing that was the exact opposite of what suited me, I pulled the lid off, and peeked at the shimmering material. Sliding it out, I gasped at the sheer beauty of the dress that felt so soft in my hands.
Holding it up in the light, it glimmered like a freshly cut diamond, the black material so silky smooth. Its wide collar was elegantly lined with baby pearls that reflected my shocked expression, and the silk ended at my feet in a classy manner. In short, it was absolutely dazzling.
"AJ," I breathed out, placing a hand on my chest as I admired the pretty dress, "This is...woah."
He let out a laugh at my breathlessness, his brown eyes twinkling with mirth.
I began to take off my clothes, not caring that he was still watching me, because even though other men were perverts, AJ always had that warm look in his eyes that granted me reassurance.
Slipping the dress on, I never felt so amazed as it went along with every curve and dent of my body, and zipping up the dress was easy (the zipper was to the side). Turning around to my boyfriend, the sheer intensity of his look was enough to turn my face bright red.
"You look perfect," he quietly said with the softest look in his eyes, "You're absolutely stunning, baby girl."
The grin on my face threatened to split it in two as I blushed an even darker shade, bashfully whispering, "Thank you."
He shook his head as he made his way to me, his hand quickly finding mine, and planting a kiss on its back, "No need to thank me; I thank the Lord for giving me a woman so kind and beautiful."
Giggling a bit as he looked at me so sweetly, I leaned in briefly to peck his lips in a delicate kiss, taking the time to prolong it a bit to show him how deeply I cared for him. There truly was no other man that provoked these feelings that swelled inside of me; no man could ever come close to my beautiful boyfriend.
