Margaret took one of the pillows off of her bed. "This will work." She thought out loud to herself. With her pillow in her arms, she made her way out of the house.
"Where do you think your going?" Brent, her annoying brother, came up behind her.
"I dont think that is any of your concern." Margaret replied.
With that said, Margaret got her bike out, stuffing the pillow in the basket. She jumped on the bike, taking off down the path through the woods.
"This is a clever idea." She heard Whisper, say in her mind.
When Margaret reached the bridge, she took out her phone. She looked through the contacts where Madeline put her number in the phone. Margaret hit dial, listening while the phone started ringing.
"Hello." She heard on the other end of the line.
"Hey, it's Margaret."
"Girl what's up?" Madeline responded.
"I'm about to come across the territory line. I figured you could tell Alpha Chris, so I dont end up with some unexpected surprises." Margaret told her.
"Sure thing, I was about to see him anyways." Madeline said.
"Alright. See ya when I get there." Margaret hung up the phone.
"I can't believe you got Madeline's number, but forgot to ask your own mate for his." Margaret heard her wolf say.
Still trying to get used to speaking in the mind, Margaret said out loud, "Well since you are in there, you can see just how forgetful I am. Anyways, it's not like you spoke up to remind me."
Whisper stayed quiet after Margaret pointed that out.
Margaret made her way across the bridge, into the Crescent packs territory. Riding he bike the mile it takes to get from the bridge, to the town the Crescent pack is now occupying.
Madeline met Margaret just outside the main pack house.
"Yay, your here. Come on, come on." Madeline said excitedly.
"Someone is excited today." Margaret observed.
Madeline ignored her, rolling her eyes.
Margaret grabbed the pillow out of her basket, following Madeline into the pack house. Madeline lead the way up into the alphas office.
"Here we are, he is right in there." Madeline said, smiling brightly.
When Madeline left, Margaret knocked on the door.
From inside, she heard a tired, husky sounding, "Come in."
Margaret entered the room, for her nose to be filled with the smell id dust and her mate. She saw Chris, with a dust rag, trying to clean up the office.
Chris looked up from his desk he was dusting off. Margaret could see the bags under his eyes. His hair looked like it hasn't been combed.
But when Chris looked up and saw here standing there, the sight of her, his mate, seemed to give him a little extra boost. Quickly, he was by here side, embracing here in a bone crushing hug, causing her to drop the pillow.
Margaret gasped at how tight he was hugging her. "Uh....I can't breath." She managed to choke out.
With those words, Chris released the hug, standing in front of her, drinking the sight of her.
"My father was right. You are in just as bad of shape as me today." Margaret finally said, breaking Chris out of his thoughts.
Rubbing the back of his neck nervously, Chris awkwardly said, "I guess I forgot to give you my number yesterday, huh?"
"Yeah well, I did forget to ask and Whisper forgot to remind me." Margaret giggled. Picking the pillow back up, Margaret also included, "I brought this over for you. I know I should not really stay with you yet, being a distraction. I am hoping with my scent all over this, it will help out with the no mate hangover."
Chris smiled at her, taking the pillow. He the took her hand, leading her to he adjacent bedroom. Margaret could already smell Chris's lingering scent in the bedroom, telling her it was his room.
When Chris let go of Margaret's hand, she watched as he placed the pillow on his bed. He then went to a suitcase sitting off in a corner opening it up. She saw him pulling out an old neon green tee shirt.
He walked back over to Margaret. He handed her the shirt saying, "And this should help you out.
Margaret took the shirt, sniffing it. With a sigh she said, "I love the smell of vanilla and pine."
She saw Chris giving her an odd look, "That's what I smell like to you?"
Margaret nodded her head.
Chris then said, "Strange combination."
"What do I smell like to you?" Margaret asked.
"Cherry blossom and sweet pea." Chris said honestly.
Margaret nodded her head to that. To Margaret, sweet pea and cherry blossom smell almost the same. Almost.
"Okay. So you need to finish up. How long do you think it will take to get yourself and your pack, completely settled in?" Margaret asked.
"Probably about a week, I would say. Before you leave, lets exchange numbers first. Um, you know, so we don't forget agian. You can call me if there is an emergency and I can call you when I have a moment to myself." Chris said nervously.
"Oh. Um, yeah of course." Margaret replied.
So they exchanged numbers, typing it into each others phones.
Before leaving, Margaret stood up on her toes, leaning up to give Chris a kiss on his cheek. Then out the door she went.
Chris just stood there, completely dumbfounded. His wolf howling excitedly in his mind.
He walked back over to the desk, picking up the dust rag and got back to cleaning.
"Damn that girl is hot." Chris heard his wolf, Butch say.
Ignoring his wolf, Chris continued cleaning up the office, to make it his own.
There was another knock on the door. "Come in." Chris called.
He looked up to see his beta Adam enter.
"Hey what's up." Chris said.
Adam replied, "I am just letting you know that the U-HUAL trucks with everyone personal stuff will be here tomorrow morning."
"That's good." Chris replied.
"Did our future Luna already leave?" Adam asked.
"Yep." Chris said, popping the P.
"Damn. I wanted to meet her. Madeline won't shut up about her new bestie." Adam replied.
Chris chuckled. "Only known her for a day and she's already got a new best friend."
"Well you know how Madeline is. She has got to be best friends with everyone, unless they purposely do her wrong with no remorse." Adam told Chris.
Chris only said, "That is true. That girl is like a six year old on Christmas, when it comes to new people."
Adam rolled his eyes, not saying anything against it because it is true.
