"I'm telling you Kathy, that was about the weirdest dream I have ever had yet." Michael said enthusiastically into his phone as he was putting on his shoes. If his hand were free, he'd swing them around the way he always did when he told stories.

"I know, you've said that about ten times already." Katherine droned, wanting nothing more but to end the conversation. Michael was a dear but sometimes he needed to tone down his emotions a tad bit before someone stabbed him or things as such.

Michael did not seem to catch the hint. He went on,"Because it felt so real. I could literally feel the impact of the knife going through my forehead like how many dreams can you have in a lifetime that can-"

"Don't you have somewhere to be?"

"Oh Lord, you're right. I almost forgot. Okay, I'll see you later then babe. Love you."

"Okay. Love you, too."

"Like it was about the weirdest dream I have ever had yet." Michael nodded his head furiously, repeating the story to his three best friends. They nodded along, not really paying attention after the fourth time.

"I can literally feel the impact of the knife going through my forehead like how many-"

"Shut up, Michael." Calum snapped in annoyance, sipping his capuccino. He rubbed his temples and sighed exasperatedly. "I'm done with this."

Luke laughed at Calum's reaction towards Michael's story. Calum had been snapping at everyone since he came to pick Luke up that morning. "What's up your ass?" Luke asked casually, earning a small chuckle from Ashton.

"I had a nightmare last night. Dreamt I was stabbed in the back. Couldn't sleep all night after I died or something in the dream." He admitted. Sure enough, there were dark circles and bags under his eyes.

"Hey, I dreamt that, too!" Michael cried, raising his hand to high-five Calum. Calum rolled his eyes and ignored him. He didn't have the mood to tolerate Michael that day. Who would be proud of sharing a dream with Michael Clifford anyway? Not him, that's who.

Hearing this, Luke sighed and nervously looked up. "Look- is it weird if I said I kinda had the same dream?" He did not really dwell on it when Michael had gone on about it but now that Calum had pointed his dreams out, he felt like he needed to share that fact.

"Yes." All the others said at once without an ounce of hesitation.

Ashton laughed, continuing, "And yet we all know quite well that we had the same dreams."

The boys agreed on this statement. "It's pretty fucking creepy."

It really was. A look of worry flashed for a moment across Michael's face before he cleared his throat. "Uh... let's talk about something else. Something more cheerful instead of our nightmares."

"Luke's birthday was just yesterday," Ashton commented, taking the opportunity to issue his ideas. "Maybe we should go do something special. You know, just the four of us. Get drunk or something, road trip around Australia perhaps?" He suggested to his three friends.

Michael quickly objected; he shook his head profusely.. "Don't you think these dreams are a bad omen? Something bad could happen. Maybe this dream was God's way of warning us-"

"Oh come on, don't be a pussy. It's just a stupid dream."

As always, Calum agreed almost immediately- it was a common fact that he was always up for any kind of adventure, never hesitating to accept invitations to plans and events. "Why not? We had that funding jar we made for stuff like this. Now's the time to use the money."

Luke said, "Yeah, maybe we should. But if you don't want to Mike, we're totally fine with that. I mean,I can't force you to come with us."

Michael contemplated this in his head. He didn't want to join in the plan, knowing that something horrible was sure to happen and yet he did not want to miss anything fun in case nothing bad was to actually happen.

He sighed, "Okay."

They walked out of the coffee shop, laughing at a bad joke that Ashton had tried to tell when they saw him.

He had the same clothes with the same hunch and the same old expression that he had casted them when they first met. He was standing against a grimy wall in a dark alley, staring at them as if he wished they were ended for real.

Calum was the first to notice. And so he tapped on Michael's shoulder and leaned into the group to whisper, "Guys, it's him."

"Who?" Ashton asked, still confused.

"Him."

Calum pointed to the man.

It was the motel's manager that had haunted them in their dreams.

They did not know what to say.
