Beau

My cheek was burning from her slap to my face. I guess I deserved that. She did look a bit shocked to see me and I did drag her into a strangers bedroom. Damn, she looks so beautiful. That dress would make any man fall to their knees and worship her. It’s been ten excruciating long months since I’ve been able to lay my eyes on her and those deep emerald eyes. It takes everything in me not to push her against the wall and capture her mouth with mine.

“What the actual fuck Beau!” Sawyer shouts.

    “I’m sorry Babes.”

“Don’t!” Her tone full of anger.

    “I just want to talk.”

“Why? It’s been months and I’m over it.” her voice cracked at the end. I knew she was lying; trying to keep me at a distance.

“I know you’re lying Babes.” My tone was gentle.

“Then why am I here with someone else.” She hissed. I knew she was trying to make a point, trying to hurt me. But I didn’t care. She is the love of my life, my forever. I wasn’t letting her go without a fight.

“Is that so? Then why are you breathing so heavy and looking at my lips like they’re a meal and you’re starving?” I step towards her until she’s backed against the wall. Her breathing quickens and my face is mere inches from hers.

    “I-I.” She stumbles.

“I know you still care for me Babes. I still have the same effect on you as I did ten months ago. You’re body betrays your words.” A cocky grin forms on my face. A red flush crept across her face, and then she put a hand on my chest and gently pushed me back; asking for space.

“Beau, I wasn’t lying. I am seeing someone.” My grin falters.

“I don’t care. I’ll fight for you. For us.” I say honestly.

“You cheated on me, how could expect me to forgive that?!” Anger tinges her voice.

“I swear on everything.” I cup her face looking deep into her green eyes, “I did not cheat on you. I have no idea where they came from.” I lied, I have a very good idea of who put them there, but I didn’t want to bring him up knowing that they’ve been seeing each other over the last few weeks. I didn’t want her thinking I was trying to sabotage whatever they had going on. I needed her to believe me when I told her the truth. Her breath catches.

“What about the extra hours at the gym?” She snapped.

“I was working at the gym under the table. I needed the extra cash.”

“To take your “extra” girlfriend out with?” Sawyer said sarcastically.

“To buy your christmas gift.” My tone was sad.

Sawyer stayed silent as she let the truth of my words sink in. The door flings open and Zeek rushes in. Fuck, this is about to become a total shit show. His eyes are full of furry with a hint of worry? Was he scared that I was going to tell Sawyer about how he planted those panties in my truck. I’m not that stupid, if I told her now she wouldn’t believe me and it would drive her right into his arms. No, I’m gonna make him tell her himself. One way or another.

“What’s up bro? Didn’t realize you and Gaylon play for the same team.” I lied.

“Cut the shit Beau. I know why you’re here and it’s not going to work. Sawyer, come on.” Zeek said sternly.
