Zeek
I spotted her the second she walked through the front door. Her hair was much shorter, but I could recognize that gorgeous smile anywhere. I knew it had to be fate, her showing up tonight. I had respected her choice to choose him, but now that she’s single again hope filled my heart. Sawyer Thompson could be, would be mine.
I pulled her closer to me, emptying any space between us. We melted into each other; a perfect fit. I moved my hips with hers, matching her moves with my own. I wanted so badly to move my hands over her body, to caress her. But, I knew I needed to be reserved with her. She wasn’t the kind of girl who liked being touched without permission. I could wait; I’m in this for the long haul. She’s well worth the time and effort.
“What’re you doing after this?” I asked hopeful. Unfortunately before Sawyer could answer, two girls approached her.
“Hey your dad texted me asking you to call him.” The taller one plastered a fake concerned look on her face. I knew that was bullshit, Trenton Thompson hasn’t been seen or heard from since the night I took Sawyer to the hospital.
“Her dad huh?” I said with a knowingly smile.
“Serenity it’s okay, I know him.”
“Really?! This isn’t-”
“No! This is Zeek.” Sawyer beamed.
“From Wyoming?!” Maria asked, sounding surprised.
“The cute dimples guy?!” Serenity smirked.
“The cute dimples guy? That’s my defining feature?” I feigned hurt. I was actually shocked she had even mentioned me at all. Considering the way she left, I didn’t think she’d talk about her past. Sawyer was blushing again, it was adorable.
“Really guys?” She eyed the two girls.
“I’m Maria, and this is Serenity. Sawyers best friends.” The shorter girl announced.
“Nice to meet you girls.” I flashed my infamous panty dropper smile. “Would you guys mind if I stole Sawyer for the night? We have some catching up to do, but I don’t want to get in the way of ladies night.”
“I’m sure you two have A LOT to talk about and it just so happens Serenity and I have been invited to go swimming at Dante’s.”
“Wait, whose Dante?” Sawyer seemed confused and nervous.
“Tall, dark and handsome over there.” Maria pointed to a man standing by the bar.
“You sure you guys don’t need back up, you know just in case?”
“Girl we’ve got this, you go catch up with dimples here and we’ll text you later.” Serenity winked at Sawyer. I could tell they were pushing her to talk to me. It made me curious and extremely happy. I barely knew these girls, but I liked them already.
“Are you-”
“Yes, now we’re out of here. It was nice meeting you dimples!”
“Have a great time you two!” Maria shouted as she walked toward the guy waiting at the bar.
I looked at Sawyer, she was beat red from her cheeks to the top of her chest. She was truly beautiful in her shyness. I grabbed her hand and lead her out through the exit.
“Are you hungry? Ihop is calling my name.” I gave her a reassuring grin.
“I could go for crepe.” Sawyer smiled up at me.
“I’ll drive, follow me.”
We walked hand in hand down the street towards my black 85’ chevy pickup. Her smile grew as my truck came into view.
“You drove her all the way here?!”
“I couldn’t leave Delilah behind. She’s been on all of my adventures since I turned sixteen.” I said proudly. I love my truck, she’s been with me through everything. My first kiss, my first time, helping me rescue girls in trouble.
“Delilah, that’s pretty.”
“Not as pretty as you.” Another blush took over Sawyer’s face.
“Thanks.”
“I’m sorry, that sounded so cheesy.”
“It was a little cheesy, but I like cheesy.” Just then my stomach rumbled. Leave it to my body to ruin a moment.
“Let me get your door.”
I opened the passenger side door and waited as Sawyer climbed in. I shut the door and walked to the drivers side. Once inside I put my key in the ignition and the engine roared to life. I looked over at Sawyer and grinned. She returned it with a smile of her own. Christ, she was beautiful.
The ride to Ihop was mostly filled with questions about our families well beings and small chit chat. When we finally pulled into the parking lot I cut the engine and turned to Sawyer. I brushed a loose piece of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. She looked up at me through her long lashes. My mouth went dry, damn I wanted to kiss her. The way she was looking at me made me crazy. I brushed my thumb along her bottom lip. She bit the pad of my thumb and I let out a small moan. She was killing me, I was trying to be the perfect gentleman. I wanted nothing more than to rip her clothes off and take her right there in my pickup. She took my hand slowly guided it from her lip down her neck and over her breast.
“Fuck. Sawyer. I’m trying so hard right now to respect you, to be patient with you.”
“Zeek, my apartment is two blocks over. Or.”
“Or?”
“Or, we can go inside, eat, and talk. But, Zeek.”
“Yeah?”
“I really don’t want to talk.”
That was all the permission I needed. I turned the key and the engine roared back to life. I pulled out of the parking lot as Sawyer directed me to her apartment building. My pants grew tight at the thought of seeing her naked; pleasuring her to the point of her bursting around me. When we arrived to her building, I found a spot and parked my truck. I killed the engine and turned once more to Sawyer.
“Are you sure? I can wait.” Sawyer moved across the seat closing the distance between us. She wrapped her arms around my neck and searched my face.
“Kiss me Zeek, please.”
Ah hell.
