Hoseok: Hyungie~ Good morning ^^
Sangchul: Where are you.
Hoseok: Oh, sorry I forgot to leave a note
Hoseok: Jimin asked me to come in earlier than usual this morning to cover him since he spent the night at Tae's
Hoseok: Hyung...?
Sangchul: And you didn't think to tell me that?
Sangchul: I was worried.
Sangchul: I'm disappointed in you Hoseok.
Sangchul: You're selfish.
Hoseok: I'm sorry hyung
Hoseok: I'm so sorry I didn't mean to make you worry
Hoseok: I'll leave a note next time, I promise I didn't mean to upset you
Sangchul: You're spending the night here again tonight.
Hoseok: Okay...I'm sorry...

Hoseok's bottom lip was caught worrying in-between his teeth. His message left on read and Sangchul was making no move to reply...
The all too familiar guilt began to ooze its way into Hoseok's chest, he could feel the spiral starting all over again. He did this. He caused a rift. He was being selfish. He's-
"Hey, Seok-ah." Yoongi's tone was demanding as he poked his head through the back door. But when their eyes met, his gaze softened. "You've been out here for awhile, everything okay?"
"Ah, yeah hyung. Sorry I guess I lost track of time." Hoseok chuckled lightly, the smile that he'd spent years perfecting, masking his cheeks.
"You sure?" Yoongi hesitated.
Hoseok slipped his phone back into his pocket. "Yeah. I should get back to work, can't have you earning all the tips tonight." He joked, and was grateful when Yoongi smiled softly back. After years of friendship, Yoongi knew when not to push. And Hoseok was eternally grateful.
"Well, I'm going to take my break then. Your favorite minion is waiting for you at the bar by the way, wants to tell you about his boxing class or something."
"Jungkookie?" Hoseok felt his smile grow.
"The one and only." Yoongi chuckled as Hoseok made his way past the elder and the door, returning back to the bar quickly.
The small diner was fairly empty for the early afternoon, save for a boy, roughed up hair, sporting an after workout glow, all shoulders and bunny smiles while completely immersed in the phone held in his hands. "Kookie!" Hoseok called, walking up behind the bar.
The younger boy shot up with bright eyes. "Hoseokie hyung! I was worried you weren't working today..."
Hoseok chuckled, offering a wink. "Well I was just taking a break Kookie, Yoongi hyung told me my favorite minion was here waiting for me so I had to cut it short."
"Oooh." Jungkook smirked. "I'm the favorite minion?"
"No, you're ridiculous." The elder rolled his eyes. "You want your usual shake? You look worn out from boxing."
"Strawberry?" Jungkook's eyes lit up, hopeful.
Hoseok could do nothing but look back with a fond smile, turning around to start making the drink. "You're going to turn into a strawberry one of these days."
"Good thing strawberries are your favorite fruit." Jungkook smiled, and there wasn't any sarcastic flare to his words. Just a smile, soft. Genuine.
Hoseok shook his head, giggling. "So tell me, how was boxing? Did you break a bag again?"
Jungkook groaned. "Hyung! That was one time!"
"One time too many." Hoseok smirked.
The younger rolled his eyes. "Whatever. It was good, I thought of the punching bag as Jin hyung when he tells his dad jokes and the instructor was impressed." He smiled, coy.
"Don't you dare tell him that."
"Oh I will."
Hoseok sighed, trying to fight back his own wave of chuckling. "You're impossible. That's just going to fuel his dad jokes even more, you know that right?" He spoke, setting the smoothie down in front of Jungkook.
"Oh I know." The boy grinned before sipping the drink with a smirk.
Hoseok reached over to ruffle the boys hair. "Silly boy." As his chuckling died down, a sudden wave of guilt chilled his bones. The guilt of laughing, of enjoying a moment with a friend, why should he be having fun? Why should he be smiling? He caused so much pain to Sangchul. To someone who loved him. And here he is, acting as if he deserved these simple kind of joys-
"Hyung...?" Jungkook started, hesitantly when Hoseok removed his hand and busied himself with cleaning the glasses. "Hyung are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Kookie. How did class go today?"
"Oh no you don't." Jungkook shook his head. "I know that face, something's bothering you. Spill."
"You know for a dongsaeng you're awfully bossy to your hyung." Hoseok crossed his arms.
"Only with you. Now spill!"
The elder sighed, deciding to go with the surface truth. "I fucked up again. But it's fine, I'll fix it somehow, I really don't want to talk about it Kookie."
Something in Jungkook's demeanor changed then. "Does it have something to do with Sangchul?"
Hoseok's brows rose. "It does but...it's my fault, so don't worry. I'll fix this."
"It's your fault? Aren't relationship problems supposed to be a two way street?" Jungkook asked with big brown eyes.
Hoseok smiled gently. "Yes, but this is different. It's okay, don't worry about your hyung. Sangchul loves me a lot, and I love him. That's all that matters in the end, right?"
Jungkook didn't look entirely convinced, but nodded anyway. "I...I guess."
"Anyway." Hoseok took the opportunity to change the subject with a smirk. "Tell me about your classes and I'll give you some tea on Jimin and Taehyung." Jungkook's smile grew twice its original size as he started telling Hoseok about his day.
